Hello, all. So, I've had this new idea for an Equestria Girls project rattling around in my head for quite some time, ever since I saw a particular episode of Death Battle. What is this project, you ask? Well, let me ask you a question.
Do you believe in Fate?
Now, the problem is that I have no idea which male Equestria Girls Character to have don the Helm of Fate, among other things, but I do have plans to have him NOT BE FLASH FRIGGIN SENTRY and end up with Sci-Twi, so she can become the female Dr. Fate. So, I turn to you for suggestions.

Time Turner. Time and Fate go hand in hand.
Why does it need to be male?
Anyways, it heavily depends on which version of Doctor Fate are you trying to evoke. For example, Kent Nelson was the kind of silent and misteriosa hero, but Jared Stevens was a mixture between Constantine and Indiana Jones.
Other ones are Erick Straus, Linda Straus, Inza Nelson, Hector Hall, Kent V. Nelson and Khalid Nassour. All of them with different types of character and narratives.
So, it all boils down to what kind of story and character arcs do you have in mind.

Because I say so. Also, I like the sound of an Indiana Jones-Constantine Dr. Fate, but he definately has to be heroic and somewhat of a novice, given that Time Turner found the Helm in his grandparents' attic.

Okay, forewarning, Jared Stevens is the base breaking one of the lot. Anyways, by your description, you should follow the latest version, Khalid Nassour. There, the story is a medica school freshmen who, though being a descendant of pharaohs, is chosen by the Lords of Order, represented by Bastet to prevent the triumph of death, represented by Anubis, and become the world's healer (hence the tittle of Doctor Fate). He's also the grandnephew of the original Doctor Fate, so it draws a parallel to your concept.
Though an artifact like the Helm of Nabu being in an attic without anyone ever noticing does sound contriving; you should add it's dormant until Time Turner finds it. It can even become the trigger that begins the emergency forcing him into becoming Fate. Hope I'm not overstepping. Either way, if you need more info, ask away.

Sorry, didn't see that one before. In that case, you should give a quick read to Fate#0, Jared's origin story. Gime me time and I give you a quick shot resume of it. Again, I do warn you he's the "Power Rangers Turbo" of the Doctor Fate line, maybe even less liked. So you will need to sell this one really well.

Ok. Just to give a few pointers, not to sound like an ass or anything, well technically it's just one pointer, but I would've actually shown Hux going against Snoke's orders.

Anyways I have a thought which I think everybody mentioned to you by now: what if you made an OC that somehow managed to find the helmet after the helmet transported to the Equestria Girls Universe after the demise of the current Dr. Fate sacrificing himself to save Earth or something? All the while having the OC character having a huge crush on Sci-Twi, which would lead to the many series of events with all the girls finding out his identity and which will allow Sci-Twi to become the female Dr. Fate as well?
Again, just a thought, so I figured I ask anyways. So, thanks for reading this. Now I must be off to face against...The Spanish Inquisition!
