Text to Video

AI is nuts right now. There are so many possibilities, yet the flaws are amazingly hilarious, especially the racist ones. My eye is on one of the latest iterations, text-to-video. My intention is to plug some paragraphs from my book into the program and bring my mental images to life. Does anyone know any good ones? I'm in the mood to play with a new toy.

Who thinks their phones are listening to them?

I can't be the only one to notice this. So, a few weeks ago, I was talking with my dad about looking for a job in a particular field while my phone is nearby, and ads for that job start appearing on my phone for the next few weeks. Little things like this happen way too often to be a coincidence.

So, you've probably noticed I finally resuscitated Precursor Legacy. Hurray! However, while I should now focus on that and Horse People, I'm afraid I caught the writing bug and started something new. I saw this video and... The number of videos on Youtube that have made me cry can be counted on one hand, and this is one of them. It's the story of a character that was born out of a love for a show. It's the story of a character that was scorned by the show's owners, bullied until he had to go away. But he's a character, dammit! There are hundreds of stories, comics, and simple pictures of him doing all sorts of things and living his fictional life. Even so... all that effort to try and make something... squashed.

And maybe it's the imagery that's playing such a big part it moving me even as I write this. The child who felt he had no place in the world, who tried to escape into the fantasy, but even that wasn't enough. The pressures of life just kept mounting until he felt driven to the ultimate escape.

Whatever the reason, I didn't cry this much when my dog died a few months ago. I'm fighting the tears even now just trying to post this, trying to get my thoughts in order in the hopes of moving on from this moment. In thanks to Jan Animation Studios for their wonderful work, the least we all owe them is to watch and appreciate the fruits of their labor.
