G5 Theories On What Happened to G4

I've been asked by several people what my thoughts on this was, and honestly I have no idea for sure though my head canon is a bit on the dark side. After Twilight was left in charge of Equestria, she tried her best but after losing one friend after another to old age she became disheartened and just wanted to retire for herself. Instead of putting the burden on another pony's shoulders though,

Co-Author For Shadow of the Sun

I was actually surprised that someone was interested to want to adopt Shadow of the Sun, but they ended up wanting to co-write it instead. So until we have everything ironed out and a schedule where we can work on it together, Shadow of the Sun will be moving to Hiatus status until we rewrite the first few chapters and get some work done on it. Until then, I'm thinking about starting one of my

So You Want To Post A Story? · 5:25pm Jul 29th, 2018

So you want to publish a story here, but you aren’t sure how to go about it? Well you came to the right place as today I will be going over the process of publishing a story here on Fimfiction.net.

So first of all you need to write something to post, and before anything will be published you must have at least a thousand words of story content. That’s right, story content and not author’s notes or anything. You can write it up in Word, Notepad or Google, it doesn’t really matter. Just as long as you have a story of at least a thousand words then you are ready to get started.

First of all you need to make sure you are logged in and go to the home screen as this will be the easiest starting point for now. At the very top of the screen is a menu bar that will have a drop down button with your name on it. Hover your mouse over it until the drop down drops down, then hover the mouse over Stories so a new menu pops up on the side. From there click on the option New Story.

Now you are on the New Story page which is where you will fill out all of the information concerning your new story. The fields are pretty self exlanatory, but I will go over them quickly.

Title: This is of course where your title goes, if your story is rated below M, make sure you don’t use any cursing or vulgar language.

Prequel: Not really needed unless your story is a sequel, then the story the came before this can be put here by entering the URL or web address for the prequel.

Short Description: A very short, simplified description of your story. It will be used for the story cards on the main page or in groups to catch the attention of the reader.

Long Description: This is your full summary for your story including any little extra information you want to use such as links and such to sources of inspiration or such.

Unpublished View Password: This is to let friends or prereaders view your story or new chapters before you publish them so everyone can see them. Do NOT use your account password here.

Feedback: Self explanatory here, enable or disable Comments and Thumb Ratings on your story. Not really recommended.

Cover Image: Click Browse and select a picture off of your computer to upload to use as your story’s cover art. It will end up looking like the picture below. You may use the box to focus and crop a smaller portion of the picture and move the box to show what you want to show for the cover image.

Delete: If you are editing your story you can decide to remove the cover art by selecting this option. Not really used when publishing a new story unless you don’t like how the picture looks in the preview.

Source: Put the URL or web address to the original artwork such as the location from Deviant Art unless you created it yourself and don’t have it posted anywhere else.

Feature Groups By Default: It is advised that you leave this on as it is a nice way to help promote groups that add your story to them as well as get goups to add your story to them getting you more traffic.

Status: Select Incomplete, Completed, Hiatus or Canceled from the drop down menu to describe the status of your story.

Rating: Again select from the drop down menu the best rating that describes your story from Everyone, Teen or Mature. Make sure you use the right rating, do not use Everyone for a story that should be rated Mature.

Series: You can pick up to three tags here by starting to type in a series name and pick from the drop down menu.

Genres: Click up to three of the boxes to pick what kind of categories your story can fit in.

Main Characters: Start typing in a name and picking from the drop down menu when the name of the character pops up there, you may use up to five different ones.

And finally, read over the Guidelines and Rules and make sure you follow each and every one of them. When you read them all, click on the green Create Story button.

Once you do that, you will be brought to your story’s home page where you will locate the New Chapter button and click it.

Once you click on the New Chapter button a box will pop up asking you to name the chapter, or if you just intend to use the generic Chapter 1, Chapter 2 and so on headings for each chapter, just leave it blank and go ahead and click Add New Chapter.

Good, you are in the home stretch now. There are three text boxes here. The first is called Chapter Title which you will leave blank if you are using the generic chapter numbering or you may edit it if you want to use a custom title. The second, much larger text box is where you will copy and paste your story and edit any thing into it such bold, italics and line breaks. Do not post any author notes here as they will go in the third box. Speaking of the third box, post any author notes or anything not pertaining to the actual story here and choose if you want the notes to show up at the beginning or the end of the chapter. Use the separate format tool bars on each text box to format how you want each section to look.

Once you are happy with what you have, click the green Save Chapter button then scroll back to the top of the page. Find the button that says Publish and click it. After you do that click on the title of your story and go back to your story’s home page.

Once there, find the button that says Submit.

And finally a new box will pop up. If this is your first story, which if you are reading this it most likely is, you will only have the option to submit your story to a moderator for approval which could take a day or two before it goes live for everyone to see upon approval. A moderator will send you a private message telling you when it is approved or what is wrong with it if it isn’t. After you get one story approved, your next one will have the two options like in the pic where you can get it auto approved instantly as long as you aren’t caught abusing the system.

Well, there you are, you now have a story posted up on Fimfiction.net. Congratulations and have a 🌮!

Hi, sorry if this is bugging, but I'm experiencing some troubles with a story, and there's nothing in the FAQ I can find that would help me, so I was wondering if someone could shed some light on my issue.

I'm very new to the sight, I've only been here a month, but I am having trouble submitting my first story. I have it marked as complete, it's around 3,000 words long and I have published the only chapter, so I am not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I am not able to submit the story as this window appears just at the bottom, I know I have to get approval first as this is my first story, but I am unsure of how to solve this problem.

Hi, are you putting your story in the notes section or the story section? The word count doesn't count for the note section which could be causing the issue if your story is in that part.

In having a hard time with the rules can I post a multiple part story on this site?
