I'm at a loss. · 5:20am Jul 25th, 2018
When I went ahead with the idea to publish The Longhaul Chronicles, I did so believing that all I would need to do was change a few minor things to make it more palpable for a wider audience. I knew going in that a story about an OC as the main character was not going to be a huge hit with many readers, but I figured I'd share them anyway and let those that read the story decide if they like it or not.
Two chapters have gone up and, for the most part, it's been doing okay. The next two chapters, however ...
Bear in mind, I wrote these a long time ago, and after reading and editing them recently, I can't help but see how they could be pushing Longhaul into Gary Stu territory. I know I didn't do it intentionally. Naturally, I'd like him to be the focus of the stories, interacting with some of the other characters, but I can see how many can read them and think I'm doing nothing more than a crappy self-insert into this universe. They've probably already said it about the first two chapters, but have been kind enough to try to give me the benefit of the doubt.
Which is why I sit here and wonder if I should go ahead and continue to publish, or scrap the idea entirely and focus on other things. I'm leaning more toward the latter, and at the same time I'm still looking at things, wondering if there might be some small way to salvage what I've already written and make Longhaul seem more neutral. Either way, there will be a delay in any action regarding this story until I can come to a consensus as to its disposition.
I'm sorry.
Go slowly and take it one paragraph at a time. Editing is harder than writing.
Everything will be fine.
1. Dost not stop.
2. Proceed slowly.
3. Apologies for being absent for a while. I have a few comments, which may help (tis PM or MLPF matter).

It most certainly is. And, thank you for taking time away from your busy schedule to read my blog.

I've read your input, and will see what I can do in that regard.
You know I'm always in your court, my friend. <3
If it's fun for you - go ahead and do it. That's all it counts in the world of OC's. And always remember your OC is immortalized in my comics, a part of the fanon-canon comics! :D
