I feel like Hasbro really messed up this Friday and here's why · 9:35pm Jul 22nd, 2018

Hasbro's always getting themselves into trouble, aren't they? Last year it was leaks, this year it's an episode airing on a Friday at 1:00 P.M. Central time.

In case you weren't in the Brony fandom last year or you were one of those people who became a hermit and waited until the season was over to go back onto social media and talk about season 7, there were a grand total of 14 episodes that were either aired in a different country or leaked online, meaning that the madness to avoid spoilers was harder than ever and is considered one of the biggest blunders in Hasbro's history... That is, until now.

This past Friday Hasbro did something so unexpected, that it left me and my friends in a state of pure confusion; they aired an episode that not only wasn't on a Saturday at 10:30 P.M. Central Time, but they also showed an episode that's five episodes ahead of where we're at now.

Honestly, this is a really big blunder to me and maybe a few other fans of the show. Don't see what I mean? Well, let's go into the raw details.

First of all, My Little Pony usually airs every Saturday at 10:30 P.M. Central Time, with two-parters airing at 10:00 to make up for being an hour instead of 30 minutes. This practice has been in effect since November 17th, 2011 and changing this at all is honestly a very odd move.

Sure I understand that they wanted to do something special for their Summer of Surprises deal, but to make a move this odd really doesn't make much sense at all. They could've aired an episode at the same time of day, but also do what they did with this one and make it a complete surprise and it would've made this slightly more acceptable to where only people who are hardcore into their routine or have their DVRs set catch it, but to put it at the time they did just baffles the mind. Overall, this was the first big miss that came from this event, but it's not the biggest by any stretch of the imagination...

Now it's time for something so baffling and unusual that I still don't understand this one at all; they aired episode 18 instead of 14. Yes you heard me right, 18 instead of 14.

I honestly have no clue why this decision was made and the fact that most people give episodes a week before they start talking about it really makes this madness for anyone who's trying to watch each episode in actual order instead of air date. I mean, was Hasbro even thinking when they did this or did some idiot in Marketing decide it would be a "Genius" idea to air these out of order and leave the fandom in a state of chaos and once again send outrage their way? If it's the latter, it definitely worked.

Now don't get me wrong: I love a good surprise here and there to break up the staleness of knowing when each episode's going to air, but to air one out of order in a season that partially requires knowledge of previous episodes to understand is really a decision that leaves me scratching my head. It's like showing the third movie to a trilogy without showing the first two.

With that argument being said though, you can pull it off right. Just look at Star Wars with episodes 4, 5, and 6; they were released before 1, 2, and 3 yet, for the most part, those actually worked and the only people who complained were the old men and women who liked how movies used to be. This is what Hasbro was shooting for, it just didn't work for them and ended up in disaster.

If you disagree with this short rant, be sure to let me know in the comments (without any episode spoilers please, as some people might be waiting for chronological order like myself) and say why you disagree! For now, I'll be heading back to my hole playing Fortnite: Save the World and waiting for the hiatus to officially end and reply to anyone who asks me anything or wants to debate. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I'll see you again soon!
