its about time I got to writing eh? ive been scratching my head on what I should write about. I've been a brony since 2013 but to be honest...I've never wrote a story for the fandom. all ive ever written is human stuff. my works on wattpad are "a reapers tale" and "universal rift" but I'm not quite so sure of what to write for this. well I know not many people frequent my page so as I think of who to write about ill leave you with this. I'm usually a grimdark writer but I think ill make an exception for this fandom. cant tell you how many characters have died due to my writing. well I think I have an idea of what to write. but ill do that while I'm at work. for now. ill leave you with a short story of mine. I worte this a long time ago. and I think someone would enjoy it hopefully. its a long at my grimdark writing but I wont taint the new story with it. I hope you all enjoy it. I know I did while writing it. well its raining now and I think my inspiration is flowing like the small river out front of my home. I must be going now. the story must be written. since you all have been such good readers and followed all the way to the bottom ill leave you with this little hint of the main characters love interest.

My advice to writing fan fictions is start within your comfort zone. If you try branching out too quickly, that when your quality will begin suffering. My first story, Friendship Is Forever, was centered around the Mane 6 dying (yes, I killed everyone off in there). But I put little tidbits of comedy, romance and implied clop in various parts to see if anypony would react to it.
If any of your stories involve suicide or self-harm, be sure to add a trigger warning. While there is a tag for that, people don't always see it. Just stick a little line in the description informing the reader about it. If you want, put it in a spoiler box if it's the main focus of your story.
Don't worry about upsetting people in regards to killing off characters. I have killed off the Mane 6 once already, Sunset Shimmer twice and SciTwi twice (once directly written about, the other briefly mentioned in exposition). That's what I can remember off the top of my head.
However the BIGGEST advice is to get an editor and/or pre-reader for your stories. I use Google Docs for my work because it has an option for others to make changes to help improve your work. There's two groups that I recommend for getting a second set of eyes: Looking For Editors and Authors Helping Authors.
