Caught Up In A Story · 1:27am Jul 14th, 2018
Have you ever become so caught up in a story you wonder what happens next, only to realize YOU wrote the story? If you have, well then add me to that list, because I did that earlier and didn't even realize it.
Once when I was just starting my career as a writer. I wrote a story to my friend and I was sitting reading through the story laughing my ass off and I forgot for a few seconds that I wrote the story. It got to the point I was thinking it was really funny and then the sad realization that I made it.
I took it as a complement

It sucks because then you realize the only way the story's going to progress is if you continue writing it. :D

I do that all the time when I am re-reading a story I wrote ages ago and stopped writing. I feel indifferent but occasionally remember small ideas of what I initially planned and remember where i wanted that story to go. Once, I even got involved in my own stories.
You should see my "Manage Stories" section on this very site. I have a great deal of unpublished templates with started but never finished first chapters or ideas I never intended to release!
4900673 - Ah, yeah, I see how that can be a bit of an issue sometimes. I am a completist, I HAVE to complete a story, or I itch until it gets done. I can postpone it, sit it on the backburner for weeks or months, but I must finish it, even if the chapter is only 500 words and the last line consists of "and yeah, but whatever that's what happened, jerks."
