Just saw the EG special hasbro snuck out...and it's even worse then the MLP movie and Legend of Everfree. A moral that could have been good but very poor execution. It's uggghhh. why do we the fansd have better stories then the hired staff. I really don't know...there was so much cringe in this latest special. The only thing of interest is the heavy Rarijack ship.

the movie had SSSOOOOO many plot holes. WHere were the Royal Guards, WHy didn't Shining launch a Counter attack, where was Starlight, why not go after known allies rather a completely known one. THat's thus the tip for that movie.

Mount Aris is pretty removed from Equestria. She probably figured that it hadn't been touched by the Storm Guard yet. Also because of the reason that Twilight attempted to steal their pearl- the ability to change them into a more physically capable form to combat the Storm Guard.
Also known allies like whom? The Crystal Empire with the same weakness as Equestria? The nomadic Buffalo of the Far West? The griffons who live on an entirely separate continent a larger distance from Equestria and who can barely take care of themselves?
Yawn any other lame and easily patched "holes" or are you just back on your "everything after S3 sucks because I said" kick again.

Sorry but even if ineffectual should still be there. this Festival was big. the Canterlot wedding showed them.
I can see at first Shining not at the festival but after a couple days I could see him trying to counter attack with the Crystal Guard. Again just a scene of it even if no speaking role would have been good. and no sign of rail lines cut.
Then the writers are bad. Starlight has been there as a non villian character since season 6 and that was likely planned before that so that is no excuse. if they can pop out hour long specials nearly every year then Bull crap on that excuse. Also why not SHOW the armor is anti magic...show not tell...BUT THEN DIDN'T EVEN TELL IN MOVIE.
Saddle Arabians, The Yaks, Ember, Changelings, The buffalo, could have been called.
and note S3 isn't were crap got started. it was late S5 most of the good writers are gone.

"Every year" bruh there's been two. Work on the film started around S4-5. It took that long to work on it. In the end there was just nowhere for them to shove Starlight into.

When the film was storyboarded and written, the Yaks didn't like ponies, and presently are the fuck off elsewhere. The dragons also hated ponies and are presently the fuck off elsewhere. Changelings were still evil and presently the peace is pretty shaky, not enough to rely upon. The Buffalo live in the West, are nomadic and constantly moving. They wouldn't have much to bring to the table and likely wouldn't interfere anyway.

you forget pegasi which from EITHER Canterlot or Ponyville one would get out and also how long was this festival supposed to last? ANd again if they can pop out these hour long EG Specials so quickly then why did it take them so long to make this movie. maybe less specials and get this movie out faster. Again because of timing it makes it hard to be beilievable because all this would be pointed out. the MLP movie was badly written and a waste of time. ANd note you forgot the Saddle Arabians in that.

Saddle Arabia is ostensibly an independent country with non interference policies with Equestria. The Storm Guard can chase down and capture pegasi.
The film was made in Toon Boom and had a higher production quality, leading to an extension of labor.
Maybe you've just outgrown pony if you feel this way, man.

How can the Storm gaurd do that. They don't have wings. and the Hippogriffs are also indpendant. and were the palce they went to. SaddleArbians were a viable source to get help from. and Toon Boom, well anotehr group used it for a music video and same qaulity so not sure that applies.
I haven't outgrown MLP, I love the stories here and love the series. it's jsut that I think the current crop of writers aren't meetign the standard.
