Now that the Apples and Oranges fic is done, I want to keep on with some fics that aren't the fetishy mess of Slice of Cake (but it will continue to get updates on a regular basis). The next fic to come out will be about some of the mane 6 relying on their friendship with each other to keep up their spirits as they await execution; it will be my first attempt at a teen rating and will have some themes in common with the Apples and Oranges fic, along with my first real stab at proper shipping.
EDIT: And I finally got sufficient proofreading on the tone of it to post just after writing this blog post.
Speaking of shipping, the first fic I started, a SFW shipfic, will be coming out within the next month or two, as soon as the death row fic is all out and I've finished applying my current methods of fic preparation to it. I actually write out a basic outline of every event in every chapter before the first chapters are written, so that I won't get utterly stalled, and adjust it a bit as I go; I started this with Slice of Cake, and it's worked well to keep it and the Apples and Oranges fic on track.
I also might write something teen-rated that's more on the moderate side, after reading such stories quite a bit. It's an area where character moments can really shine through without being weighed down by heavier tones or the confines of the show.
