Art Room Finished. Yay! · 10:09pm Jul 8th, 2018
For seven days I’ve worked diligently to get my art room done. Because from now on I’m doing all my artwork both traditional and digital in there. As well as building cosplays of course. Only thing left is I need to get some pillows on the bench in there so when I craft digital works I can do so in comfort.
I’m relaxing for what remains of today (after hauling metal and fossils/gemstones/minerals into the art room) and if my orange cat can stop whining and causing havoc long enough for me to write I’ll likely churn a story out too. He’s going through his late life kitty crisis.
The reason this news is in a blog is because it relates to the art thread. I am relaunching it this month, and I’ll be working on art thread pieces alongside cosplay builds. I wanted that room finished so I could work on both in a secure location, or as secure as it gets in this house. Later this upcoming week I’ll post the finished art queue work that I couldn’t complete due to illness.
Now when that happens, since I’m balancing the art queue, stories, and cosplays again I figure I’ll let you guys know right now that there will only be one work finished a week initially. At least until after my convention in two or three weeks. After that it might go up to two works a week. But I’m not going to push myself too much right away.
And this actually ties into something else, I’m planning to start offering custom cosplay builds really soon. The reason I’m keeping the art queue at two works a week tops is because I’ve already been asked at conventions if I run a business making builds and costumes, and asked for a card. I do intend to do custom order works in the near future, my rule is that to do so I need to complete a specific variety of builds so I can figure out how to craft certain parts. The two remaining major builds before I start offering my build skill for hire are the Graboid and the Nuckaleeve (RWBY). Both of which will be worn by one person, myself, and function. Just like the Nevermore.
Both of these will be completed before November, possibly alongside the Zardoz head. I’m thinking ahead here, which is why I’m keeping the two artworks for the queue a week thing as a rule of sorts. Because I don’t know what will happen when I offer my build services for hire, I could get a few orders here and there or I could end up swamped. Because I specialize in replica monster and unusual enemy or antagonist builds it could very easily end up being a swamped order situation.
So just in case that happens, I want to make sure I still can finish art and stories for both my art queue and those who read my works. Make sense?
Alright, awesome, because I need to collapse on the couch now. I’ll share some photos of my stuff later this month, oh and I’m doing a traditional spray paint artwork for fun. It will star my prison comedy story cast, and be the cover art for the upcoming sequel to that story. That’s all for this update.

I would love to go fossil, rock, and mineral hunting here in Arizona as well. :)

That’s on my list of areas to visit for that actually. Not just for rock, gem, mineral, and fossil hunting. Arizona has some prime free climbing locations, including a few for mere advanced climbers like myself. Also the area has some regions that beg to be captured on canvas.

Related to the art room.
I got most of my supplies today for the builds. So I’ll be making frameworks tommorow before doing story or art thread updates.
PVC pipe is my best friend right now.
