D&D: why the new OGL is really bad

There's some controversy right now about the new OGL (Open Gaming License) published by Wizards of the Coast, the company behind Dungeons & Dragons.

I don't talk about D&D here a lot, since I know it's not relevant to Fimfiction, but I think it's worth getting this news out. Also they're owned by Hasbro, the same company that own MLP, so it's worth knowing what they're up to.

New story starting soon · 11:23pm Jun 20th, 2018

I've got a new story starting in a few days, and it's a big one.

The Fishbowl
Equestria Girls · Alt Universe · Adventure · Mystery
Vinyl Scratch · Octavia · Trixie

Vinyl remembers the doll. It's unmistakably hers, right down to the peanut butter stain on the left foot. Except it's in Octavia's closet, and Octavia insists it's always been hers. Why do they have the same doll – and the same memory?

This is my first novel-length story, one that I've been working on for the last two years. It's a substantial step up from anything I've written before, in depth and complexity as well as length. I can't say much more about it without spoilers, other than to say that this AU gets very weird, and things aren't what they at first appear.

A mystery story needs to hang together in all its interconnected details, so I've held back on publishing any of it until the whole story is complete and fully edited – which it now is. As a result, I can promise there'll be no hiatus or hold-up in publishing. I'll put the first few chapters up together in a few days, then the story will be unveiled at two chapters a week.

I hope you enjoy following along with the mystery!
