IN WHICH THE GOING GETS SLOW

I was hoping to publish Recovery this weekend. However, my prereader is, shall we say, younger than I first thought and has final exams. Since he is not Sunset Shimmer, exams are very important, so I refuse to bother him again until Wednesday afternoon once those exams are over. After that, it may not take long at all to spruce up the chapters and epilogues for publication.
In the meantime, I'm working on Sonata's second Burritoverse story. It's slow going, mostly because it's extremely difficult to TRY to create a Burritoverse fic. I said last time they "just happen", but that's not entirely true -- I do have to put effort into creating the setting before the trademark character's inner monologue inevitably derails the story into crazy-town. I haven't reached that point in the story with Sonata yet.
I'm concerned that after so long, I've lost Sonata's character. The story so far hasn't provided me much room to allow her ditziness to show itself. Also, what my brain came up with for establishment is fucking sad.
Still, I suppose if I press on after I wake up tomorrow, I'll make more progress and hopefully things will only improve from there. She's giving me the opportunity to tie more SRA stories into the Burritoverse, as well as to fix her original story's biggest mistake -- lack of song references. I bought an Eagles CD for my mother last weekend and burned it to my HDD. Plenty of fitting lyrics.
Anyway, that's how it's going at 3:15am on a Sunday. I must call my dad when I wake up.
