You haven’t. It’s new, but the one before used to have the same name. That’s totally something people remember a year after the last update, right?

Of the ten stories I’ve published here, only two have the number of chapters they were planned to have. Those are the two which only have one chapter each.

A common thing for me is underestimating the amount of words required, so what looked like it’d be just one chapter becomes two or three. In one case, I didn’t realise it was too long to work all as one chapter until 20 minutes after I’d published it

And that’s what’s happened with the latest bit of The Song That Makes You Lose It. Twice! A year ago, the Sonata POV chapter was split into two, when Sonata’s flashback pushed the chapter to over 6,000 words, and I still had about 30 lines of dialogue to get through. And a few days ago, when I reached the end of the then-written dialogue skeleton and then planned out the next bit, I had already written over 5,000 words, and there were over 60 dialogue exchanges left to go. So I split it again. But there were a pair of chapter names I had in mind, and stretching that out to three required a bit of rejigging. So the new chapter (the 4th in the story) now has the name that the previous chapter had until yesterday, which in turn now has a new name.

I’m guessing this will all be fairly obvious, but, since it’s been so long and people are probably struggling what happened to remember last time around anyway, I thought I should mention it.

Anyway, I’m very happy to have finally been able to post an update for it!
