IN WHICH I LOVE LAMP
I just made public the latest chapter of The Rejected at an absurd time, so watch this new MV.
Meanwhile, there is a meaning to that weird subtitle, if you'll follow me...
So, I reluctantly went with my mother to an estate sale held in a super-posh area. She didn't find what she was looking for, but I found this lamp made entirely out of popsicle sticks (including the shade). It was 50% off $38, but I thought it was so cool that I would have paid full price (still, I'm glad to have paid only $19). I don't give a damn what some appraiser might tell me it's worth. I like it and that's all that matters.
At first I thought it was a reasonably new piece from, like, Pier 1 or something. My mom said she thought it was older. When we got it home and I looked at the plug, I realized she was right. That lamp has to date back to at least the 1960's or possibly earlier. She referred to it as "Tramp Art", meaning something artsy made back in the day with whatever one had on-hand. "Folk Art" is the proper term these days I think.
Regardless, I'm glad to have it. And I really do like lamps. I much prefer them to overhead lights 90% of the time, so nearly every room in my house has at least one lamp -- my own bedroom has three.
Like I said in the intro, although it was three days late, I posted the third chapter of The Rejected after making some last-minute tweaks -- there was a paragraph that literally repeated itself, some words I though I overused, and some other minor fixes. With this, the story has officially hit the 10,000 word mark (exactly, thanks to my OCD). I hope people will read it and enjoy it.
This chapter provides crucial backstory for Sunset, FINALLY reveals her true age, and allows her to reconcile with Flash once and for all. It also has a Rarity fantasy moment that I loved writing.
I do apologize for making readers restless about Sunset not getting Rarity's increasingly obvious advances. Please realize that I wrote this story nearly a year ago, when I was even less over getting dumped than I am today. I've tried my best to justify in-story Sunset simply being dense about this one subject and, based on reader feedback, tried to add a little comedy to the situation.
Would it make you feel better to know that I might have written a story where they get together?
Anyway, hope you enjoyed. Chapter Four will come soon!
Peace out.
TAKE A PICTURE OF THE LAMP I WANT TO SEE.
If Sunset and Rarity don't get together in the end I'm okay with that. Life is cruel. Relationships don't always work out for one reason or another. I've experienced it myself. It's part of the suffering of life. So long as they remain good friends and are willing to have each others' back I'm happy.
Were you just looking at things in the estate sale and saying that you love them?
I have a mighty need to see what and how lamp looks like pls a Picture? :) and honestly even if they didnt end up together i would personally be fine with it aswell life is hard and heartbreak is normal.
my best regards <3
