I finally updated Irreversible and already one upvote has been switched to a downvote.
I think a problem I have with the progression of the story is the same sort of scope-creep problem I've had with Twilight's Secret Journal: the story isn't tightly-defined enough, so threads begin to wander in too many directions. I avoided this in my other novella Broken Symmetry by virtue of the fact that the story was specifically about two actors and their relationship, and I had to plan out the story way in advance due to the time-travel shenanigans. I probably also got lucky.
I'm starting to realize that I'm not good with long stories yet, and this is mainly because I write extemporaneously. I have the ending firmly in mind but I don't outline or pre-plan events, and I'm beginning to see this as a writer's flaw in my longer works.
What about you? Do you still enjoy the story, or has it slipped into meh territory?
Oh, I am enjoying both stories immensely. One more than the other, but that should be obvious. I am very curious to see where Twilight's going to go from here when everything she knew about Celestia could very well be a lie.
I'm loving the story still. This kind of thing is so right up my alley that I can't help but feel that your choice of image for this blog is quite appropriate.
are you sure, there just seems to be an extra vote not a switch

Yep, it was 64:8 and now it's 63:9.
I'm not obsessive or anything, I just remember there being X-squared as many upvotes as downvotes.

Man, I'd be salty about losing that ratio too.
I'm enjoying it, but I do have to agree that it is moving quite slowly. That's not a major problem for me, but others with less tolerance for that may feel otherwise. There's still a lot of questions being asked and only a few answers have been provided. It feels like you're getting too many plot threads in play all at once and not resolving them anywhere near as fast as you're introducing them. Part of that is likely that I didn't reread everything so I'm likely missing foreshadowing/other hints to tie things together.
All in all- scope creep is definitely happening. I don't have a major problem with it.
I still find it interesting. I think I know how it will end but the world building is good and you have a knack for surprises so I want to see how it ends.
I still like it.
The latest chapter is bucking cool!
The only problem I see is that it's impossible to keep all complex details inside my brain while waiting for next chapter. To reread everything each time is an options, but that's

Planning is definitely key in longer stories. Don't feel bad, I learned that he hard way too. I just write a very concise and direct summary of events in order, and use that as an outline. No fluff, only key dialogue and narration points, and mention any important details that need to be included.
I used to track my upvotes and downvotes a lot more carefully until I realized that they had more to do with how sweet stories were than how good they were.
