Well Sonic will wake up Cantalot which has transformed into a 21st Century modern metropolis with skyscrapers, modern day cars, modern trains, and other things. There he'll meet adult Twilight and Spike along with Flash Sentry who is Twi's husband and they have kids. Two of them to be exact. Just like how Shining and Twilight were when they were just kids.

Well Celestia and Luna will it too. Here's a short preview of Ch 5 where Sonic's new form will be revealed.
Sonic staggered to his feet as he had his back turned with his head looking down at the metal ground not knowing Ash's Pikachu was coming for him with an Iron Tail attack. Twilight and her friends along Quaze and his friends called to him in shock, "SONIC LOOK OUT!!!"
But Sonic didn't turn around and just stood there like a statue as Pikachu got closer to him from the air. The electric type Pokémon swung its tail at the blue hero thinking it was going to get a clean hit. However, that wasn't the case when suddenly Sonic turned around and grabbed Pikachu by the tail in one swift motion with his right foreleg. The Equestrians along with Spike, Spyro, Cynder, Sparx, and Discord saw the entire thing and were shocked to see Sonic catch an attack with his bare hoof. But Twilight, Shining, Cadence, Star, Quaze, Celestia, Luna, and Flurry felt something different about Sonic this time. There was a strange growing energy beginning to rise to the surface inside of him.
Ash and his friends on the other side of the room were shocked at the sudden sight when Sonic caught Pikachu's Iron Tail along with the Silenzers as Vert felt a feeling inside of him telling that something wasn't right. Then he said to himself with concern, "I got a bad feeling about this."
Pikachu on the other hand stared at Sonic with who didn't look at it in the eyes with disbelief as its Iron Tail caught by one hoof. Suddenly Sonic jerked his head up and looked at Pikachu as the electric type gasped in shock as the blue hero was showing an angry scowl and his eyes were filled with rage and looked very enraged and was growling at it, "Grrrrrrrr…"
Then Sonic pulled back his right foreleg with Pikachu hanging by its tail still growling. Suddenly with inhuman strength that wasn't even remotely possible for both human or Equestrian the blue hero threw Pikachu at the rest of the Pokémon like a fast spinning baseball as the mouse Pokémon let out a shocked, but surprised yelp as it headed for its friends, "PIKAA!!!"
'SLAM'
Pikachu slammed into the group of Pokémon like a wrecking ball to a stone wall. All of them were knocked down
But then Sonic brought up his left foreleg to deliver a punch when to his shock 5 white colored sleek razor sharp predator claws shot out of his hoof and said in shock, "Wh-what?!"
Everyone in the room was shocked to see Sonic's foreleg growling claws as Connor said to Vert with shock, "Uh what happening Vert?!"
Vert looked at his friend and said to him with a concerned look as his feeling he had was right all along, "I don't know Connor, but I got a very bad feeling we're about find out!"
Then Sonic felt a very familiar sensation as he began to shake and pain was flaring up throughout his entire body. The blue Pegasus flopped to the ground holding his head in pain as if something or someone was trying to get out of him. This sensation was the same thing when Sonic turned into a Werehog back when Eggman released Dark Gaia from the Möbius' core, but it couldn't be a piece of the entity of night from his world. This was something else entirely as everyone looked at Sonic with confusion and concern on what was happening to him.
A millisecond later everyone looked up to see the huge domed window above the room as the clouds rolled out of the way revealing a full moon in the night sky. It was like if something made the weather change on its own since the Everfree Forest was strange and was just like Earth and Möbius. Sparx gulped and said to himself, "I got a feeling things aren't going to be pretty soon…"
As the moon revealed itself in the night sky Sonic suddenly looked up at the moon. Something began to grow and all recent events began to flash back into Sonic's mind as he began to growl angrily as his face turned into a very enraged scowl and started to grunt and growl like a wild predator. These humans and their elemental pets captured his new friends, tried to dissect Quaze and Star, captured innocent civilians that had been missing for days, and they thought that Twilight and her people were just wild animals. Sonic had just about enough of this nonsense. He was going to make them pay! All for them were going to pay for what they did! Suddenly a small turquoise blue flashed in the sky before it got closer revealing to turquoise blue lightning shot down towards Sonic.
Then lighting took on the form of a strange dragon's head as it roared for its target as it opened it mouth like it was about to swallow Sonic whole, "MRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHRRRRRR!!"
The lightning struck Sonic as he groaned in pain and shakingly got to his feet. He shot a extremely enraged look on his face showing a scowl on his face at the humans and Pokémon letting out a low growl. But then to their shock Sonic's flat herbivore teeth quickly changed into razor sharp pure white carnivorous teeth that could look like they could tear through flesh and bone and his eyes changed to beast like eyes from a predator. Then Sonic's legs gained claws just like his left foreleg as his right foreleg gained the same number of claws while his backlegs had three claws. The legs also got very slightly bigger as very strong muscles formed in Sonic's legs.
Suddenly Sonic opened his wings and they became half pegasus and shockingly half dragon as the sails were white, but the membrane was medium tinted turquoise blue with two more white razor sharp claws bursting out of the tip ends of the wings. Everyone stepped back in shock and fear as Sonic was transforming before their very eyes becoming some sort of pegasus/dragon mutant hybrid. Twilight looked at Sonic disbelief and knew there was something very wrong with him and felt someone hugging her leg as she looked down to see Sparx filled with fear was chattering his teeth and hugging the lavender Alicorn's right foreleg.
Then Sonic's forehead gained a strange crown with wedge like sides to them formed in front of his mane that was light turquoise blue with three curved strange ovals that had a lighter turquoise blue color to them. Suddenly two pure white horns shot of the back of the crown and curved upwards as the two horns were on the wedge sides. Soon after that Sonic's cutie mark glowed turquoise blue before changing in a flash of light and revealed a new symbol which still had the blue fireball, but 5 curved claw marks in the center and a strange arrow top forehead dragon that was turquoise blue with its mouth open and glowing blue eyes.
When the transformation was complete Sonic opened his new wings and let out a dragon like roar as the lightning formed around him like a sphere before it exploded into a powerful shockwave knocking everything down or sending things back with devastating force that was like from a blast of TNT that just exploded, "MRRRRRAAAAAAAHHHHHHRRRRR!!!!"

I feel like Spike could be sensing something too due to he's a dragon there, given how the being Sonic was turning into is a dragon as well.
Felt like something for Princess Luna too with the whole moon thing since she's the princess of the night there.

Well I don't know for sure, but soon. They don't know Sonic had used the power of deity of night before and he's also gained the power of a legendary dragon Pokémon from a distant region. He's going to be very powerful too.
