A JD Review: MLP Season 8 Episode 10 - "The Break Up Break Down" · 2:46am May 20th, 2018
The one where Discord ships it.
Admittedly, we ALL do (Yes, even you).
ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLRIGHTYYFFVHGYJBH! In this week's episode of Dragon Ball Z, Big Mac is planning a surprise for his MAREfriend (why they call it girlfriend, though?) by baking a pie with some help from Spike and Discord's dark magic. And of course, wacky shenanigans ensue to where Big Mac thinks Sugar Belle is breaking up with him, Discord convinces him to do the same with her, everyone realized they made a mistake and everything could have been solved with simple communication (like most of the issues these characters deal with in the show), and everypony goes home with someone special to cuddle and kiss with except me... God, I'm so lonely.
But forgetting me, this episode was great! Yeah, the problem could have been solved with communication, but the jokes all hit, the flow and pace was perfect, and I officially ship SugarMac now. Thanks Discord and Nick Confalone. I'm telling ya, this writer's got some talent. Give him a pay raise, Hasbro/DHX.

Not bad, but honestly i cant wait for the next episode, it will be filled with 'winged' intensity!
To summarize this episode I’d say it’s predictable, but really fun.
Really loved that the Spike, Big Mac, and Discord friendship came back. I really like them as a trio.
I also like that despite Discord cynicism he’s actually a bit of a softy which is pretty fitting for a formal evil lord of chaos who is now friends with the element of kindness.
Also the cmc subplot was cute. Really had a laugh when Sweetie asked Snips and Snails if they write the letter while hoping that they didn’t.
Love Dragon Ball XD, but yeah, love this episode it was great
Honestly I just thought this episode was... fine. I mean, I did like it. The Guys Night trio is always a tonne of fun (especially Discord), lot of the jokes landed and as much as I'm sick of the "eavesdropping and taking things out of context" storyline, I can forgive it seeing how Big Mac's only just started talking and interacting with others more.
But I feel the CMC's subplot didn't really affect the main story at all. Like, they could've cut it out and nothing would change. And I don't dislike SugarMac but frankly, I wasn't concerned in the slightest of them possibly breaking up in the SECOND episode starring them together, considering their relationship has barely been given ANY focus or insight since the end of Hard To Say Anything.
So yeah, I did like it overall but I'm more looking forward to next week's episode.
