    Greetings!

I know that it has been a while since any kind of update, but there has been a reason for that. I intend to explain why I was away, and show you a glimpse of what I have planned for the future! If you care about my story Prodigy, then I would advise reading this blog carefully.

    YES!

Your eyes do not deceive you!

1000 of what I think are readers on Prodigy! I'm not going to lie, I don't really know if that means much, but it's pretty cool overall, so I thought that I would share it with all of you! Thank you so much for giving my story a chance, it means a lot to me.

Major Overhaul - Prodigy · 9:58pm May 16th, 2018

Greetings!

I know that it has been a while since any kind of update, but there has been a reason for that. I intend to explain why I was away, and show you a glimpse of what I have planned for the future! If you care about my story Prodigy, then I would advise reading this blog carefully.

Rest assured that this account is far from dead. I began finals week a while ago, and I finished my first year of formal classes earlier in the month. Now, I think of my stories every. Single. Day, without fail. And since I had less time to write for Prodigy, I had more time to observe it from the outside; from a readers perspective.

I had the time to think about where I was taking the story, and whether or not I was moving in the direction I wanted to. I had time to think about the characters and how they were developing, versus how I wanted them to develop. I had time to think about the magnitude of the project that I had undertaken. And the more and more I thought about it, the more and more I realized...

I'm not happy with what I have so far.

I can honestly say that when I go back and read Prodigy, I think to myself: "man, this could be so much better." I don't enjoy what I have. Now, that's not to say that what I have right now isn't something that I am proud of. I have amassed an audience that keeps me on my toes, and gives me some valuable feedback, and for that I am very thankful. I feel that if I were more of a carefree person, then I would be happy with what I have so far. But, alas, I am not. I wouldn't go as far as to say that I am a perfectionist, but I know for a fact that I can do better, and that's exactly what I plan on doing.

For the past year, I have been reworking, remodeling, and changing the plot to Prodigy, in a way that makes it just better overall. In this time, the story has evolved in a way that even I could not foresee. The plot has changed in a way that is clearer, more coherent, and more intuitive than before. There are new plot lines, new characters, and hopefully better development.

I am also aware, however, that most of this all depends on my ability as a writer to make these things better than the way they were before. But I am confidant that in the time I have been inactive, my writing skill has increased. I never stopped writing, and I never will. It's a part of me that will always be with me.

And so will Prodigy.

It's a story that I have put my soul into. It is truly something that I care about and love, and I could never abandon it. It does, however, need to evolve, and here is how I plan on doing it:

I plan to, in the near future, delete the story, take some time to get back on my feet, and then begin anew.

A fresh slate.

This is the plan that is currently set in place. Let me know that you think of this idea, and whether or not you like it or not.

As for my other story... Journal of Occasional Nonsensicality is staying the way it is, because I have way too much fun writing that story.

There it is. If this plan comes to fruition, there will be a more comprehensive blog post explaining what my plans are in the future. Thank you for your time.

Didn't you leave off with him making a friend and being accepted into the military?

The last chapter, "Questions," finds Daniel trying to figure out what has been happening with his magic. The chapter before that is where he laments about his decision to join the military and encounters his magical problems, yes.
