Sick, Vacation, and Graduation · 3:26pm May 14th, 2018
Well, there's a shocker. I got sick the week before I'm due to head south for vacation, but luckily for me it seems to be clearing up already. This started Thursday afternoon and only got worse Friday before gradually working its way down (come to find out, I have low blood pressure too, but that is likely because I hadn't eaten for 24 hours before it was tested. That, and I had thrown up 20 minutes prior because the urgent care I went to was quite literally set to hell for its temperature). It forced me to miss two days of work though, which'll hurt my check on my last day on vacation.
Anyways, because of me being sick, I was unable to get my computer back from my friend this past Friday and she will instead drop it off at my mom's work for her to give to me on Wednesday. Not enough time to work on my stories unfortunately, but it'll be nice to have it back at last. Thursday, I will be venturing up to Cleveland with my stepdad to take a school tour at the National Weather Service office up there, and then Friday I will be getting on a plane to South Carolina for vacation (and a rainy one, as it is looking to be...). Since I am not taking my computer with me, I will not be working on my stories from May 18th to May 25th. Once I'm back, I will fully return to writing as, by that time, I will have been done with high school completely (actually, my last day is the 18th, lol), and will be set to graduate on June 2nd!
Since I will have my computer back, I WILL be finishing Eye of the Storm in the beginning or middle of June, depending on how much writer's block I'll have in me. Right now, chapter 48 sits over 10k words but still has quite a ways to go before it is complete and I will (hopefully) be satisfied with its result. It might be a fast-paced ending, but I would rather it be that than it carry on for too long. Then chapter 49 will conclude it at last and may be quite a long chapter in itself.
As of June 11th, my days at work will change, and I will no longer be working weekends. Instead, I will be working Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday every week from that point forward. It'll be less hours during the day since the zoo's hours change and I won't be working full days but instead afternoon shifts, but hopefully more hours on a paycheck every other week.
And since school will be done, between work days, I'll have time to write again!... and procrastinate... that's a given. But hey, I am getting there. And soon, I am happy to say, I will return to both A Sailor's Notes and Deceitful Royalty, and begin slowly working more on The Guard of the Sun. I still don't have a real window for when I will have that out yet, but I'm looking for perhaps fall of this year. If that's the case, however, it's unlikely that Starfall will be put out this year as I am looking to keep myself to just one large story at a time. Unless something changes, and I decide to alternate between the two stories. Maybe that is just what I need, so that I regulate my time spent on either story to ensure I don't rush out chapters, because both of those are stories I really do not want to rush.
Thanks for the heads up.
