Concerning Fragments · 3:45am May 13th, 2018
I'm making this blog to announce that the upload schedule of Ofolrodi is going to be a bit fragmented for the next few weeks. That in itself is likely a redundant statement because it's already been pretty fragmented... sporadic... and downright unpredictable. I've taken pride in the fact that when I do miss a "daily" upload I typically come up with a double upload to cover for it.
That's not going to be the case for the upcoming spell. I suspect for the next month, hopefully for less time, the chapters will go up more irregularly. Maybe that'll make for larger chapters... maybe even better chapters. Nietzsche knows, Ofolrodi hasn't been holding up so far to my other works... but maybe that's just my own perspective. It's a long-ass book, and I suspect we'll be around 500ish in chapter length before the whole dayum thang is done.
There are two major reasons for this "development."
1) My computer is having issues. Even as I make this blog, the thing keeps occasionally "blanking out" as the display driver experiences momentary seizures. Sometimes when it does this, it outright crashes and I have to do a hard reboot. I'm not a tech expert and it's hard to predict, but I'm gonna have to get things looked at if I wanna surf the Internet and Discord in peace. Don't worry, I still have my writing computer... Sedna 2.0, so to speak. (F'naaa)
2) Since February of this year... and since late 2016, if you wanna get real about it... I've been plagued by a new poni-related story/project idea... or more like a whole steamin' mess of them. While it's something long-term, I believe it's also something I can indeed work in tandem with Austraeoh--because Austraeoh still remains my number one literary priority in life at the moment (that other fic that nobody reads has been reduced to the obligatory whipping boy for my sins). But for the majority of 2018, I've been in a mental, emotional, and creative slump. I keep dreaming and daydreaming about making this fantastic "leap" in writing experimentation, but I keep sabotaging myself into not letting it happen... through laziness, through fear, through self-loathing. You name it. It's gotten to the point where I sometimes think I'm gonna go friggin' crazy and implode... and not in the sexy way befitting this alt's name.
So... for sanity's sake... I feel that I need to sit back, chillax a bit, and find a new pace so I can actually tackle this shiet that's been dominating my obsessive brain for months and months and months. Presuming I finally nip this shiet in the bud, then I can get my groove again and resume doing Ofolrodi as a daily.
To that end, this is not a "hiatus," but rather a sort of "lull" or change in "pace" until I can figure myself out. The worst that can happen is that I give up on my dreams and resume doing Austraeoh dailies in about a month anyhow. The best that can happen is that I might do something to make myself happy for a change.
How to Disappear Completely is about to end soon. I'm going to focus on finishing that, and then work on the next slew of Ofolrodi chapters loosely while seeing what I can do about this other chunk of Skirtsian creativity just begging to be stroked. It's probably a fitting point, because Ofolrodi's about to pour into the Bloodwing arc, and that's going to need far more effort and concentration than all the so-called "acts" preceding it. Maybe bigger, more-spaced-out chapters would work anyways. And what does anyone care about my spotless "daily" regularity at this point. It hasn't been very "regular" since 2016, and still a whole lotta friggin' words has been made anyways. Might as well work to make them a bit good-er. F'naaa.
If y'all want more tangible, regular updates, there's a Discord Server for that. Please, come visit. We've got friends, grilled cheese, and ballgowns. Not necessarily in that order.

I think the biggest news here is that Ofolrodi is going to be (much) longer than 300 chapters.
Five hundred.
Don't sweat it, dude. If anything taking a slower pace with writing, even if only temporarily, can be a lot better for the story than trying to tackle it at a breakneck pace. Especially if you're doing multiple stories all at once. Honestly I have no idea how you do it sometimes. That's some serious stamina you've got there. So yeah, take all the time you need. We're not going anywhere.
Take your time. Ofolrodi could definitely benefit from less frequent chapters right about now, if they’re more carefully crafted. Obviously that’s not your main goal here, but I think you could kill two birds with one stone.

Are you sure you’re getting enough fiber in your diet? Make sure you’re drinking plenty of fluids too. And not the sugary caffeinated kind.
Make your own pace, fam. Larger chapters tend to make a more cohesive whole.
Story fatigue is horrible, like holding a stressfull muscle position for too long, the memory patterns become fixed and static and the brain treats it as a something it doesnt have to check so ignores it all teh while the pattern is drawing energy adn resources to remain intact.
Magically you could consider it the same as an inefficiently implimented internal spell, like telekinesis using your brain as the momentum lever instead of using externalised forced, beamed linac and fluid , mass flow or gravity forces to do teh same thing.
TL:DR Youve been thinking of it too much, go off and do at least one thing totally different for a while t let that spasming story muscle get a chance to rest, relax, recover and strengthen. A selection of totally different things would be even better.
If you have new ideas, dont just let them Smoulder.
I'll repeat something someone else said to me: write what makes you happy. That'll be what gets down on the page most readily, and people will respond to that. You've written so much and earned the respect of so many of us that we'll give an honest shot to whatever you put in front of us, so if you want to try something new and different, go for it!
I mean I certainly won't complain about you taking a much needed break

Dude, if you need a break TAKE ONE. You have already done far more than any other author I know of with this, and we all have faith you will come back to it. Daily updates are nice, but not absolutely necessary.
I once estimated that all 12 books would reach about 5 million words. Now that you are considering 500 chapters here, I may have to rethink that to 6 million words!
And when I saw the "regular" dates in the previous books, I had assumed that you had already written most of the book ahead of time and throwing out the chapters bit by bit and "correcting" the later chapters with what was commented on the published chapters (as well as inserting readers' names). Now I know that isn't so, but you sure were "typing up a storm".
I can definitely understand if you need to take a break or do something else (walk instead of drive east). Hope all goes well for you.
And that picture you used makes me almost think that this "plane" isn't the only fragment that got sundered. Would make for interesting Austraeoh game mods, but would probably break whatever big reveal you had in mind if people used other species as the "spark".

Author is fine. Still post stories to his other account. This great story just ghosted is and died though.
