I'm without mouse, and I'm no good at traversing my computer using keyboard commands, making writing a bit of a bitch right now.
I'll go buy a new one tomorrow. In the meantime, I could attempt to write on my phone, but I really hate the idea of doing that for fiction. (Like seriously, how do I em dash on mobile?)
Just wanted to quickly vent, as I was hoping to catch up on some of my backlog tonight, but that doesn't look like an option unless I A) begrudgingly accept the use of key commands to get everything done or B) try and write on my phone.
What do you guys think? Wait a day, or try and get something done tonight despite the inconvenience? Open to suggestions.
See, this is why I hate mobile. Autocorrect decided to change 'in the meantime' to 'I'm the meantime'. Piece of shit.

Seams like all the more reason to just wait a day. Then you can just work a little more then you normally would have to make up for it.
What did you do to your mouse in the first place?
If you're using an Android device, the standard Google keyboard has the em dash pretty easy to get to. Tap "?123" beside the comma, then long-press the hyphen/minus symbol.
It has been awhile since I last used the standard Apple soft keyboard, but I remember it having a similar method of getting to additional characters.
If you do your word processing in Gdocs, a default autocorrect turns "*-- " (the space at the end is important) into "— ". That's probably not terribly relevant on mobile (mobile gdocs app it does work, just tested), as that's more keystrokes than simply getting it from the keyboard.
Outside of those, the likely easiest way to workaround, for now, is to just double-hyphen. After you get your mouse, just remember to search/replace "--" with "—" before you publish.
What happened to your mouse in the first place?
You could always navigate with keyboard controls and turn on the Num Mouse option. Works for me when my mouse starts to break.

Probably tried to use it as a dildo.
Lol get good nerd
Punish your cat.
Always try to keep spare mouse, keyboard and headphones in your house. That or have a controller you can use instead of mouse.
That said you just press tab rapidly till you get where you need to go to write. You don't really need mouse for that.
That or enable the mouse sector thing in the accessibility menu.
Also you can use Alt+shift+Num lock to use your numpad as mouse.
Don't try to do something that you're uncomfortable with. Just wait until tomorrow (today now, since I didn't see this was posted yesterday) and get a new mouse.
FYI, There's an option in the Accessiblity menu (Control panel) to use the numpad as a pseudo mouse. Its pretty slow, but it gives you some precision back.
