Finally got some writing done... · 11:19am Apr 24th, 2018

After a mind-numbing weekend filled with 9+ hour shift after 9+ hour shift, I was finally able to breathe and write some more. It's not quite ready for posting yet, but hopefully in the next few days after one more short shift tonight. And it will STAY short. Someone will have to get down on their knees and perform sexual favors if they want me to stay past what I'm scheduled.

Also got into a heated debate on Reddit when a few actually defended the misdemeanors around town this weekend, saying "college-aged kids will be college-aged kids."

Um, no. How about, fuck no, and fuck you?

What the hell ever happened to calling them college-aged adults? Because that's what they fucking are. Treat them as adults, and try them as adults, so they can have very real adult consequences when they go off and do stupid shit.

This city is not, and should not be a goddamned fucking babysitting service. I am so fucking sick of this entire city revolving around that cesspit they call a campus, and what I hate the most about my existence currently is those worthless shit-for-brains are the reason I get a paycheck.

There. Rant over. I feel better.

Time for bed.

Here is the thing, these "college-aged" people tend to behave more like children and that is why they use the term kids. My view is that if they behave like that, then perhaps they shouldn't be driving, voting or anything else that adults (18+) are able to do. If they want to behave like children, I say they get treated like they are 12 and only have the privileges of a 12 year old.

I can understand your frustration and hopefully things will improve for you....and communities that revolve around a college/university campus are THE WORST. It is the same way where I live and these kids can run amok and get away with it.

Generally, yeah. It's an extension of school; a good portion of them haven't stepped into the real world that isn't subsidized by their parents. They feel like adults, they're out from under their parents thumb, but they're only a phone call away if you need money or something.

For some, college is a wake-up call. "Hey, this isn't like high school, I need to actually buckle down here".

And for some, mom and dad are still babying them and they're still not dealing with any actual problems. I've known people who went to college on their parents' dime and bummed money for food off them every month, and for supporting their hobbies or whatever. If your folks never quite say 'Hey, take care of your own business' they never feel the need. Their work money becomes extra spending money because at best that's all they need it for. At worst, they have LESS spending money but still enough to not be suffering too badly... even if mom and dad are tightening the belt at home.

And then there's people who work through college because it's the only way they have the money to do it. That's a little more rough.

Sorry to hear about those college kids causing trouble. My bunkmates back in army whom are smokers find me weird for never drinking alcohol or smoke despite being 19. Considering I keep seeing all the idiotic things they do without their daily fix, I think I'm better off not following their path. The real irony is that they are 21 years old and told me to loosen up in the ARMY. And quite frankly, fuck them. This is how I want to live my life. Just Piss Off.

I've been told to loosen up before too.

I don't really hang with those people anymore. I loosen up in my own ways.
