Blog plug - Carabas and ‘The Tempest’ and ‘Wedding March’ · 6:01pm Apr 15th, 2018
Carabas is one of the best (in my opinion) ‘Character’ writers on this site, who I got hooked on with Moonlight Palavar, about what happened to the other nations during the rise (and fall) of Nightmare Moon, then The Tempest, about how the same bunch of illustrious leaders cope with the rise (and fall) of Discord. Now he has completed his other major story about the notables in Wedding March during the rise (and fall) of Queen Chrysalis and her ill-fated attempt to become a bride.
All of his stories are great and should be read, but there are some special gems to add to your reading list like The White Horse, a grim story about Celestia and how she forged Equestria back together after Nightmare Moon had been banished, and Noblesse, about Princess Platinum and how she bravely drove a dragon out of the future home of Canterlot. (With some help).
I really don't understand how Carabas doesn't have five times the followers he does. His stuff is consistently magnificent on every level.
4840799 What's worse, he can write unbelievably funny/drama and turn around and write dead serious grim of such quality that I'll never be able to match it. Darned Brits. Guess the only thing I can do is read everything he writes. (and help edit when he needs it.)
Carabas is a gem of writing, and im glad to know his works.
It's also worth reading his worldbuilding blogposts
Tempest is discord. NMM was Moonlight Palaver. All three are excellent, though.
4840799 Especially since a lot of his best writing isn't even his stories, it's his blogs.

Worse, it's in comments on his stories. You seriously have to read through the entire comment thread, because he will occasionally drop such gems in there as to make other authors' headline stories blush.

Sounds like this post's author then.
Oh thanks! I finally read Moonlight Palaver a couple of weeks ago and now I have two stories more to read.
I keep letting authors slip by un-followed for too long. One of the perils of reading mostly epubs, I guess...
4840909 Bloody heck, I forgot there were *three* of them, all of A+ quality. Correcting.
Moves the reading of these into a higher priority than the 'high priority' they were at

Those are hypnotic in a special way.
Also, Treasures is another story of his in the same universe, following a young Daring Do.
Every single story I've read by Carabas has been fantastic.
