End of an Era: Toys R Us Shutdown Commencing · 6:10am Apr 14th, 2018

I know this may be something stupid to talk about, but since some of us (including me) have some feels from this, I thought I'd place my thoughts on the issue.

As many of you may know, the old toy chain, Toys R Us, is officially going out of business, thanks to a leveraged buyout of the company back in 2005 and a very bad assumption of the market and it's changes, the toy store that many kids grew up with is shutting down. After today, many TRU stores will close their doors and hundreds-if not thousands- of workers will lose their jobs and will be stuck in a very bad hole that'll be hard to get out of.

In my area, my TRU shuts down tomorrow, so during the last trip I made a few weeks ago, I managed to grab some stuff, and of course, the whole store looked almost like a ghost town, there were very few items, few people were shopping, and there wasn't much to get, but in my case, and in a bit of a careless move with our money, we got some stuff at the cheap prices they were.

I don't buy from TRU most of the time, but I've gotten some things there, and I have found out a bit of good news. There's a TRU in Sacramento near my area, and it doesn't have a closing date, as well as higher prices, unfortunately. Nonetheless, at least there's still one people can check out.

Along with that, I wanted to know your thoughts on this, do you have a story about this store you want to tell? Perhaps a look at what we got during our last TRU trip? I'd be happy to hear it. Also, if you haven't been to a TRU, I'd at least suggest checking one out for once, it's a bit of an experience going in there. Get the drydocks ready, my friends, we're gonna be putting down a dear friend of ours soon. :( :fluttercry:
