A British Gentleman has proposed a series of writing prompts that are equal parts tricky and rare in ponyfic. This first prompt's a doozy: Second-person Human in Equestria with a female perspective character. Frankly, I've got nothing, but if you're inspired, details can be found here.

That's what I was thinking. It'd be interesting to know how many female HiE fics actually exist out there, though I don't know how you'd go about looking for them without sifting through all the Human tagged stories first.

There is a group. Obviously, it will not contain every female centric HiE on site, but we can still get a good idea of percentages. With 111 in that group and 12,709 in the HiE group, we get 0.87%.

So less than one percent of HiE's feature a female protagonist.

Edit: based on the number from the group nemryn found, it goes up to two percent. Still quite uncommon.

Also note that the overall number includes double-counts because one story can be added to more than one folder, and each time it is, that counts as a separate "story" as far as the total is concerned. For instance, a SoL alone put into the SoL folder would be treated as one story, but a SoL/Romance put into the SoL and Romance folders would be treated as two. Therefore, the true number there will be less even than 111.

True, the ratio isn't likely to be affected much either way, not if we're measuring approximately.

Because HiE is generally wish fulfillment and self-insertion and this fandom is awash with dudes.

Same thing that happens in other fandoms with older members, except the fanfic crowds in other fandoms actually tend to be female-populated, so you get tons of female self-inserts and yaoi/slash.

(I'd say we're the inverse, but given the futa output of bronydom, we might actually be into dicks even more than slash fangirls :P)

If it wasn't for the second person requirement, I might take a crack at this, because woman-in-Equestria is a rare subject that has potential. But second person perspective is beyond my capability, I'm afraid.
