This is a Speech i wrote myself for my US Government Class for a Group project that I think I'd like to share with ya'll.
Scenario:
There's a 440 Acre plot of Land a Farmer is wanting to sell within a Suburb/Urban Environment for an undisclosed amount. The Homeowners Association of Knob Hill Estates is against a Plan for developers of Low-Income Housing (Apartments) onto the Development. They argue that building the L.I.H. will decrease the Nearby Estates Property Value (around $200,000-$250,000), will Increase Crime rates and Increase overall congestion on the 6 and 4 Lane Roads that are between the two sections of the city (The City of Alpan).
Homeowners Association of Knob Hill Estates:
As the Homeowners Association of the Knob hill estates, we want to keep the welfare and safety of our residents our foremost priority.
We propose that the 440 Acre development be turned into a commercial and recreation district for the betterment of the Surrounding area.
The property value will rise as well as increased Property & Business Taxes will provide a greater income to the city and school district. Education opportunities could be provided to the schools as the children come-of-age into the working world. ---
If the development is turned into low-income housing, many of our residents will leave. The Property value will decrease due to the construction of the 'LIH' and it would rapidly crash when residents start to uproot themselves over the Development.Take a look at Detroit, low-income-housing proliferates the city driving down the property value and causing many businesses to dry up, in turn causing more 'LIH' to be built causing a cycle of crime and Joblessness to run rampant in the Low-Income Neighborhoods.
In order to lower crime rates, create jobs, improve productivity and consumer attraction, the increase of Income and Property values for the City of Alpan, we Strongly propose the future Positive development of a Commercial and Recreational Zone to be built in the 440 Acre Development Lot.
For the Betterment of the City, our Communities, and the Safety and Security of our Residents and children for the foreseeable future.

If our suggestions are not met; we have the resources and will, to pursue legal action for the betterment of the city and it's current residents .

Now, make the same argument based on greed and defend the position of making low income housing preferable... using the silliest of peanut butter and banana arguments. Naturally, It wont prepare you for Clever Hans, Mister Ed, Random Hidalgo's in the Spanish inquisition, and other whor- er horses who talk out their Kemosabe. But for college it would be sufficient. Not sufficient enough to convince a biscuit in human resources, or a police detective to accept their truth is a lie, but good enough for your professors. It's best to use Kokopelli's pied piper strategy when dealing with insane liberal commu-nazi who accuse you of collaborating with the Russians, to let them hear what costs them less to believe.

You need to prepare for a psychotic counter argument based entirely on insanity (where they insist a lie is the truth and that the truth is a lie _what happened_ be damned) and nonsense (Marginal Utility, the law of diminishing returns used for price fixing often confused with insanity by alcoholics and other drug fiends).
