If there's one thing I really don't like about this site, it's when people post new threads in the forums with titles like ‘idea for a story you can have it’ or ‘this thought just came to me’ or ‘crossover idea!!1!’, where people have posted an idea they’ve pulled from their butts and that’s it; no thought, no effort, no nothing. Generally, I downvote the op just on principle because ninety-nine times out of a hundred, it's a crap idea that wouldn't work even if someone with an ounce of skill did want to write it.
But Jay, you may ask, does that mean that one out of a hundred ideas are decent?
Yes, yes it does. And to my shame and embarrassment, I found that one gold piece* in the mines of crap, and wrote something about it.
