IN WHICH THREE HUNDRED
Before I begin today's rant. I promised y'all something like this. Enjoy!
I like TFR's more experimental take on this one. I also like experimenting in writing. More past the jump.
So as you can guess from that subtitle, I have officially passed 300 followers! I wanted to write this when it sat at exactly 300, but I had other things to do and I don't like uploading two blogs on the same day unless I have to. Suffice to say, thank you very much!
I see in the big bell thing that a few new readers are using my link to THE GUIDE and taking the opportunity to actually read the Recovery Arc. Some seem to be enjoying it, which is nice. I can't help but wonder how many may be holding back until the last three stories are finished. That's what I'd do. After all, no one wants to get into a series only to have it peter out and never finish. Well, you don't need to worry about that with me, as there is one other person in the world who can confirm I've completed the arc's ending.
I was very tempted last night to make a mockup of my "workspace" and take a photo to show you -- a computer desk surrounded by ponies and thesauruses. But it would be just that: something to make myself look less pathetic. In reality, I usually work from bed.
I also considered photographing my manga and/or anime collection, but since so much stuff is double-stacked, I didn't think it was worth the trouble in the middle of the night. So I rewatched - yet again - the Babymetal "Live From Budokan" Bluray. I'd love to get a copy of Wembley or Tokyo Dome, but the prices on those are too rich for me right now, since it'd require importing from Japan and that's always expensive. Same reason I don't buy Sakura Gakuin swag no matter how much I want to (which is a lot, since this year saw Aiko, one of my favourite members, graduate).
Usually I write my blogs in the middle of the night. I'm doing this one in the morning because I got stuff to do today. I need to visit my ailing father and do other adulting things. As my Sunset will tell you, and so will most on this site including many of the followers I've become closer to, being an adult sucks. The one upside -- getting to partake of the liquors -- I can't even do because of my pillz. The other day I specifically ignored the "DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL" direction because I'd been having trouble sleeping and figured being careful would simply knock me out rather than kill me. Considering I'm here writing this, I think it went well.
I also want to photograph my new laptop with the in-progress draft of And That's Good Enough on the screen, just to prove to y'all that I am in fact working on it. If slowly. I've learned never to give estimations of when I'll be finished with a story, since, like Douglas Adams, I'm terrible at meeting deadlines. Except for my Mayor Mare fics, but that's because I must publish those on a specific date, and the stories are simple enough I can barf them out within a few days.
The next Recovery Arc story is my top writing priority now (sorry, Octavia -- you and your Chav cousin will have to wait). I hope it goes as well as AMDQ -- a side-story -- has. Turns out the internet has a program that lets you calculate how many days since a specific date. It's been 312 days since my last "Recovery" story was published. But Sasha comes first chronologically. So how long has it been since I actually published the last chronological entry to the series (Rarity Reveals)?
319 Days. Shit. Well, hopefully I can get this trainwreck back on the tracks before we hit the year mark.
In the meantime, I must reluctantly leave my hovel to go adulting.
Peace out.
