So, you think you know history? Guess again · 11:15pm Mar 29th, 2018

The “History” they teach you in grade school, middle school (also called junior high school) and high school isn’t as accurate as they would like you to believe.

Here’s a few examples

Yeah, but even Adam Ruins Everything is grossly inaccurate.

Truth be told, in the US, education was better before the implementation of the Department of Education.

Now that is a bit ironic. But I can think one big reason why, their goal back then was to inspire nationalism. It’s why the pledge of allegiance was instigated in the 1800s then revised after the second world war, “under god” was added to the pledge in 1950 for some stupid reason I don’t want to think about anymore. And you’re right, but at least they are willing to admit it and address the mistakes in some episodes.

... hmm.
I'm Australian, so I can't really comment on the accuracy of the American Education System's revised versions of history.

Revisionism happens with a historical accounts, going back to the first recorded histories. Personal, political and government mandated biases act as a sort of snapshot for individuals and times they were written. It's actually a more current trend in official accounts of going in and setting the record straight. But the U.S. education system is indeed a cluster f:flutterrage: that just now having some parts untangled. Mos of the "History" books used in grade school through high school are approved by Texas board of education, which doesn't bring in experts for each subject to see if the books are school worth but the equivalent of a bunch of random people off the street and asking them how well they can understand what is written the books. Which is a terrible approach for any educational institution. I live in Montana and it's the Texas board of education deciding what the text books for my state and its neighbors in regards to what goes into most our text books. Nevermind the fact the method of education we use in the U.S. hasn't had any real structural changes since being founded during the Industrial Era. The method of teaching for primary through high school education is archaic and getting more so with each passing year.

A lot of Western education methods are obsolete.
I Recently heard of a new method in... I forget which European country it was, but their method was that the students learned what they wanted and could do so at their own pace, and the studies were showing that it was actually more effective than even the Japanese method of students being in classes based on their respective levels of ability.

As someone with Asperger's that wasn't diagnosed until I was almost finished with High school, I can see how the method would have been INFINITELY more helpful to what my needs were than what the Standard Australian Education methods are.

Finland, the country that's doing that is Finland. There's almost no homework and students are permitted to learn subjects that interest them alongside other children. Right now Finland is ranked at the top when it comes to education

I thought it was, but I wasn't 100% certain.
My point is that it's a method that's massively beneficial ESPECIALLY to people with learning difficulties in certain areas.
