Greetings from lighthoof

Hello everyone, I'm lighthoof, even though I've been watching MLP since season 1, this is my first time doing anything on fimfiction.net (I know, pretty late to the party), but I come here for a good reason.

So, I'm a spike fan, I enjoy watching him interacting with the other ponies and even when some of his episodes are bad, in which case I feel really sorry for him, I still love just spending time with the little guy. I understand that there are a lot of people who don't appreciate Spike as much as I do and that's fine, I can definitely see that. But I also think there are a lot of people who don't understand the point of view of people who enjoy watching him. My hope is that with this account I can begin to make people understand what it is about Spike that we enjoy. In truth I'm posting this as a promise to myself; by the end of this week I plan to publish my first written work EVER on this site and I plan on publishing one new story in conjunction with each new episode of MLP. I realize this is a big undertaking, but I feel like the window where anyone even cares that Spike is on screen is wearing thin and I'm racing against time.

One thing I should say to anyone else who enjoys Spike is... I broke down and skimmed through the leaked season 8 episodes because I couldn't bear to get my hopes up only to have my heart be broken again. With the Exception of Spike's episode I couldn't tell you what happens in any of them beyond what you can find on summary on wikipedia. But what I will say is this: if you are a Spike fan please please do not get your hopes up.

My hope is that by making these stories I can prove to myself and to everyone else that just because Spike's character in the show might degrade to a point where he is essentially dead, that doesn't mean he has to die to us. He can still live here in our stories and in our lives. One way or another I will never forget what MLP has taught me or the connection I felt with Spike and his friends as I explored the land of equestria.
