    Today's the day.

I feel sick and nauseous and anxious and excited and terrible and scared and a bunch of other things, too.

    Tomorrow is move-in day.

    Meaning, college!

    Meaning, school!

... meaning, for the most part, an end to my time here on FIMFic.

I have a blog. Did you know?

Making one has been on my mind for a while, and I did have a draft version of the site saved. I ended up publishing it yesterday.

Sometimes I post there - that's my aim, anyway. Some of what I might post could be considered good - that's what I'm hoping.

What I've Learned After These Nine Weeks · 11:59pm Mar 17th, 2018

1) To care is not to be cruel. Caring is not and never has been a weakness. It is a fundamental component of character and is vital to spiritual balance. To care is not a crime; if anything, it is a sign of great strength; for being able to emphasize with the stranger is, at its core, among the most human of all elements.

2) It is possible to be firm, assertive, and confident, without falling into arrogance.

3) It is okay to feel; to allow one's self to experience emotion. It is not a matter of "I should feel this way," as much as it is a matter of "I am feeling this way." The first step to emotional stability is recognizing that.

4) Forgiveness isn't easy, but it's worth all the pain. Someone may not forgive you, but you can forgive them. In doing so, you demonstrate an understanding of who they are: another person, scared of many things, just as vulnerable as you are. Find solace in that human aspect.

5) Sincerity and earnestness are where the best suggestions lie. It is from those two things that the head listens and the heart speaks.

6) Be brave. Don't be afraid to cry. Don't be afraid to shout, to stand up for yourself or for others. Courage is not the act of just standing up to the world; it is the act of not flinching in the face of the primal.

7) No one defines you but you.

8) The world is a dark and often cruel and unusual place. But you are not the world. So you do not need to be the world; you do not need to be that way. You can be more than that.

9) To know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived; that is to be a success.
