Announcing Rewrite · 11:19pm Mar 16th, 2018
Hello everypony!
It's been a long time since I last wrote in Fire & Thunder. Google Drive tells me the last time I wrote on a published chapter was Jan. 6th, just four days after I started working on the document- and that the very last time I worked on the story was Jan. 8th- at 1AM.
The only problem being, it had such a nice, steady start- and everything went downhill (at mach 6, at that) from there. Even the Bolo. (Wohoo, airtime!)
So, I'm rewriting it. I'm going to be reusing much of the opening sequence, but adjusting some events... and completely eliminating others. Unfortunately, this means posting the rewrite as a new story would likely violate FimFic policies- so I will be rewriting it in place, overwriting old chapters with new. For those who liked the original and wish to continue that on your own, you're welcome to- I've archived the original Google Doc, and you're welcome to build off of it. Do make sure to comply with FimFic rules in any such building, though!
Anyways, to the keyboard! Time to see if I can't make Fire and Thunder into a better story than the one it's supposedly a rewrite of, Iron Mountain?
I'd suggest making it an "outtake" sort of deleted scene. You could post it as the perpetually-last chapter, or something.
I have also seen some stories with the same initial chapters, and you could always repost it as one chapter...

Yes, I could... I think I'll find out what people want from me. As it turns out, Chapter 1 is staying the same for my rewrite... and I'm posting Chapter 2 in a minute.
