Whoops, I kinda forgot to abandon all hope first. :B
So Sunset's playing a pirate game on her phone when she finds a treasure map in a bottle. Cue short treasure hunt. The end of said treasure hunt is dumb.
This wasn't bad, but it did feel like a pointless way to waste two minutes of my life. And I really hate the pirate lady. D: But, uh, Octavia in a swimsuit? Do we even care about this? <.<

Okay, despite having the worst title in the history of anything, I unabashedly love this. Cute shit, good environmental message (don't pick up baby animals!) and probably the best usage of Tank ever. If you watch any of these, watch this one.

Well, at least the two-minute format means we don't have to suffer Rarity being insufferable for long. :B This wasn't bad, I guess. Points for Rarity actually being a decent person and AJ and Rainbow getting into the thrill of treasure hunting.
But you know damn well the fandom's going to flip over Rarity shouting "Naked!" I shudder to think what will come from that…

Okay but seriously, what the fuck is up with the crabs? D: They came up with animation models, so they have to get as much use out of them as possible? If the turtle one didn't teach you that crabs are assholes and the eventual downfall of humanity, this one will.
But where the first short in this group merited a "That was dumb" at the end, this one got a "That was really dumb". <.< It's a short comedy plot you have definitely seen before, Pinkie was not entertaining in the least, and for fuck's sake, Fluttershy, the crabs would not be hot if you put them back into the water where they belong. D: So much for good environmental messages.
Oh yeah, and there was randomly a kid who looked like blue Steven Universe. I couldn't get over that.

I almost wish something fandom-stupid would come from Pinkie screaming "My floatie!" but I got nothin'. I guess it's different having Sunset be the one who's randomly acting dumb? That's not exactly a good thing, though. :/
So, unless you're just really into watching the humane seven in their (admittedly really cool) swimwear, I wouldn't recommend these beyond the turtle one. Maybe Lost and Found. Silly.

I enjoyed them, but that's coming from the guy whose first priority with these is "How much can I turn into trading cards?"
Also, same-universe aliens are canon for the human world going by that unearthed flying saucer.
I was more worried that they dug up a skull and a naval mine in Lost and Found. Probably should call someone about that. The legionnaire helmet with holes for pony ears was a nice touch.
If they're in a mirror universe, I'd love to see how their pony equivalents would look in the same swimwear~~

I really thought they were gonna do it, and was almost shouting at the screen, "DON'T TEACH KIDS TO PICK UP SEA TURTLES! DO NOT!" And then they didn't, and we were cool. That one little bit of intelligence was enough to make me forgive these wastes, if not appreciate them.

I'm ready to just fucking write off EG because of bullshit like this. And then they'll do something like Forgotten Friendship and I'm just like, why the fuck can't you just do this instead? None of the 2 minute shorts have been particularly good. None of the leaked storyboards for the 2 minute shorts have been particularly good. But, EG aside, the longer stuff has been good to great and I just want more of that.
Of the short pieces, I think My Past is Not Today is about the only thing I like :s And that's entirely for the audio. The video aspect actually kinda annoys me with how lazy the composition is. (She's gonna say phoenix again, quick, run towards the camera!)
On the subject of stupid, I thought the stupidest thing might have come out Too Hot to Handle. Pinkie had two shaved ices left... and gives the one not covered in sand to the crabs to help them cool down, instead of to her friends.
