On Writing #8 · 11:20am Feb 28th, 2018
Been a few months, ladies and gentlemen. Been doing hella writing, though, on account of co-writing a grand adventure/romance story with my very, very good friend Merc the Jerk. Collectively, he and I have written... oh... roundabout 45k words on the thing since January timeframe.
Wow. I just realized how damn fast we've been flying through the thing.
Feels good to write like that. I've always wanted to write a grand RariJack story. There ain't that many of them, judging by the stories their group has. And it's a shame, cause they're like... my second favorite pairing of all time.
Oh, and spoilers for the fic being a grand Rarijack fic, I guess. Inspired by the wonderfulness that was The Last of Us, and the 1st season of Telltale's The Walking Dead.
So... its Rarijack and zombies. Except not really, cause zombies are overplayed and i kinda hate them.
So there's no zombies.
Anyway, yeeaaahhh. There's that. Been reading over some of my really really old fics, too. Fixing grammar mistakes and things that the much younger me made. Relearning all the lessons I learned.
I still kinda want to add a "Shotgun" chapter to Legend of the Shotgun. Wouldn't that be a hoot?
"Here's a random-ass chapter, guys! I know the fic has been done for like 5 years now.... Hush. I do what I want."
Nah but the fic I'm doing with Merc is just now cresting the halfway mark, so it should be coming out late April. We decided to get to the halfway point before we started posting. Or rather, I decided and then talked Merc into it. He just kinda grunted affirmingly, as he often does.
The partnership has been awesome. It's taught me a lot about just letting go of inhibitions and just getting to the writing, man. Which is sweet.
Anyway, that's all for moi. Been writing, been reading, been watching Berserk (don't even get me started), and enjoying all three of those things.
Would this added chapter actually include, I dunno... maybe the legend after which the entire story is named and yet somehow never appears? Because that would probably improve the whole thing by a factor of 10. But in all seriousness, no. If you're going to add to something that's been done that long, for Luna's sake, don't attach it to the original. Make it a sequel/prequel. It's just about the only way anyone will notice.
At any rate, huzzah for writing more horsewords!

Heh. Yeah, you've got a good point on that.
Huzzah indeed! I kept snorting at all those people that recommended that the way to get over writer's block is just to write, but I have seen the light.
Mmm, sounds right
