Them's Fightin' Herds now in Early Acces · 10:24pm Feb 23rd, 2018
Haven't seen many talking about this game now being live-ish, so I thought I'd mention it.
Things so far, about a half hour in myself? Seems a bit bare-bones (as is the nature of the early access beast), but the game seems really promising so far. The animation, fighting and music are all already top-notch as far as I can tell.
The only real flies in the ointment is the backgrounds being a bit static, some effects being card-board looking place-holders (a rather neat touche, I must admit), and there being no story mode at present time.
Again, though, early access.
Have to say, though, so far TFH is definitely reminding me of some of the success stories of Early Access so far, like Don't Starve or Subnautica. Lots of features already there, something's that more then playable so you actually get an idea of the full game, and a definite sense that there's a hierarchy of things they will, want to, and hope to add to the game, in that order.
There was a lot of buzz around this one when it was still the 'screw you, Hasbro's lawyers!' twinkle in the eye of the then nearly broken-up Fighting Is Magic team, so be sure to pass the word around even if fighting games aren't your thing.

Again, Early Access with all that entails. No idea yet if this is going to be one of those fighters that gets played for years or years yet or one of the flashes in the pan with a cool gimmick, but it definitely looks promising towards the former so far.
They've kept it to EA because of story not done, but everything else fleshed out as it goes for the most part. They werent going 1.0 with the story being up to snuff. And they got some really nice Va's in this.
