Forgotten Friendships Special Review. MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD!!! · 9:17pm Feb 17th, 2018

Holy cow, This one had some ups and downs for me. Get your snacks, this review is gonna be a long one.

There are a lot of things that I liked about this EQG special, but also have some... things I question at the same time. Let's just talk about what happened first, then I'll list out the positives and negatives.

It of course starts with a musical number of how Sunset bullied everyone, got defeated by Twilight, and redeemed herself to everyone. After that, she and her friends were confronted by Trixie, who is complaining that she isn't in the yearbook. Of course they agreed somewhat to put her into this year's yearbook. After this they all planned a day out on the beach for some fun. Interpret that how you will. But when Sunset arrives, none of the mane 7 remember her at all besides the horrible things she has done to them. She asks the "Princess" Twilight for some help of the current scuffle. Now with everyone's memories wiped of their friendship with Sunset Shimmer (Poor Girl...), she now has to... *ahem* go back to Equestria to get help from the Super Alicorn Purple Best Friend Twilight Princess Sparkle and... her old teacher Princess Celestia... Hoo boy I thought this reunion was gonna be a... not very nice one, especially how Celestia looked at Sunset at first, but it was actually nice and... pretty funny (Twilight's faces were priceless! XD). After going to the Canterlot Library's Restricted section, they try to find a clue of what might have happened to everyone at CHS. Turns out that their memories were taken away by the Memory Stone, AKA the Memory Kryptonite, and they have to find it within 3 days before the sun sets (I see what you did there...) or else their memories are permanently wiped. After returning, Sunset confronts Trixie thinking that she did all of the actions needed for the recent events. GET YOUR CAMERAS READY GUYS!!! WORLDSTAR!!! But it turns out that Trixie knew nothing of the Memory Stone, but decides to help Sunset find it for her own reasons. They now must find the monument of where the stone was buried and how they are gonna find it. I have a feeling it's way closer than they think...

Eventually, they did find the monument from a photo that Wallflower Blush (Or Watamote without the cringe and much more cute) took. Turns out Wallflower herself used the stone to wipe out everyone's memories of all the things they did with Sunset and who she really is. The reason for this was despite what Sunset did to everyone in the school for so long, she was forgiven, even became popular again and befriended everyone. As for Wallflower, she was always ignored, and grew jealous of her and wanted what Sunset had that she didn't, being noticed and not being alone. After learning this, Sunset was understandably furious about this, and looked like she was gonna go ham on her, but got stopped by Trixie and got both of their memories wiped by Wallflower in order to escape. But it turns out that Sunset left a note in her pocket and Twilight's drone recording in the lab, in order to remember everything that she needed to do. After the "Door Escape Trick" and with only a little bit of time left before the 3rd day sun set, she then chases Wallflower to the parking lot, where her friends were actually hanging out at. They then see what was going on and see Sunset's memories actually being wiped in front of their eyes. But they soon remember of what happened and came to Sunset's Aid. Eventually they got Wallflower to bring back everyone's memories and made sure to help her in anyway they can.

So... That was the Forgotten Friendship Special. Here are the Positives:

-First off, THE GIRLS SWIMSUITS ARE SOOO... NIIICE!!! :twilightblush: (Just has to get that out of the way...). But seriously... those swimsuits... I can't look away... :moustache:

-That drone can be used for all the wrong reasons... Why am I smiling about this...

-The plot is actually kinda fresh in my eyes, especially for EQG, and got very serious and emotional at times.

-Wallflower Blush kinda had some legit reasons for her actions. She can also be very relatable to so many of the brony fandom and so much more.

-Seeing Sunset and Celestia FINALLY reuniting after what happened in the past... it's beautiful...

-Twilight, Sunset, Celestia. Best. Comedy. Trio.

-Trixie and Sunset's Door gag is the highlight of the special for me.

-Princess Twilight wins the Nerdgasm of the year and the meme face trophy of the Special. :rainbowlaugh:

But now are the... Negatives:

-Turns out the Human world is not the official dumpster ground for unwanted Equestrian OP AF and not to mention DANGEROUS artifacts and people... First the sirens, then the geodes, now the memory kryptonite... What's next? A Laser shooting all powerful Unicorn tribe of death? Thanks for making us feel special guys...

-If the Canterlot Library had a restricted area of books to where only Luna and Celestia can enter, How did Twilight know all of the books even though she never saw them?

-How did Sunset know Luna? Wasn't Luna banished to the moon during the times when Sunset was Celestia's student?

-Wallflower Blush being the villain is kinda... OK. Her motives and reasons were reasonable, but it came out of nowhere and felt kinda rushed at the same time.

-Also how did she read the scriptures in order to activate the stone?! Ok, she might've been able to use it on accident, just like Juniper with the Magic Mirror, but... still... Plot convenience can only go so far people.

-I just hate seeing my waifu looking all depressed and upset that her friend got their memories wiped of her...

-Their transformation outfits changed... again... Do we have to have every single separate transformation have a different outfit to collect? At least they look WAY better than the ones in Legend of Everfree...

Final Rating 8.5/10 Enjoyed it a lot. Had some little errors, but loved it nonetheless.

And That is it! So, what are your thoughts? Also... who had best swimsuit? I wanna know... for... reasons... :moustache:
