Writing coming slowly · 7:48am Feb 17th, 2018
Writing has started but I'm like five hundred words in. Mostly cause I had to get ready for an appointment for figuring out the job situation. Still no job so I guess I have the time to write and all but that might change someday. Dunno. Really was a good appointment with the whole disability vocational rehab thing here in the jolly old US of A, but like do you realize how weird it might be for me to take a bus to work cause well kind of can't drive- no license and with my disability making it hard to gauge reaction time and eyesight problems and like a fused ankle I just don't feel comfortable trusting myself out on the roads. But there's like no buses anywhere near me. So I might have to do a mile or two walk everyday to a bus stop and then go to a workplace or like call a cab Uber thing. I don't know. Then one day really soon I have to do a mock up resume. I should have got one of those set up a little bit during college but nope everytime they set up a workshop I could never fit it into my schedule so I have to figure that out too.
Life's been a bit weird especially when your caseworker says pretty much being on disability for now is better than me finding a job and losing the benefits due to the weird fact that once your out of that safety net, it's like completely impossible to get back into disability/ Social Security or whatever. I guess with my completely unchanging and not really ever going to get better disability, I kind of have to deal with that.
Oh and honestly I have to say I forgot the Winter Olympics were going on this month so I've been watching those to relax. I'm sorry that the only sport I follow religiously is figure skating like it's good and artsy and the current people in the sport are great. Maybe I'm just being a major stereotype but oh boy do I like watching figure skating.
And I've been looking up makeup tutorials vaguely so I can get an eye of how to write a makeup scene. But since I tend to over research stuff I'm just going to toss this research out and vaguely describe what I think makeup would be described as for someone who never wears makeup. I came up with this joke that Dash- in Fluttershy's body of course- needs to wear makeup to meet any aristocrat cause they are seen to be jerks or something and realized I could spend a sentence setting up the next scene instead of spending a thousand words on detailed makeup work.
Silly me.
Goodness, I tend to be into knowing random things and never using them much or at all.
Only 600 words in but I've continued to notice that there are two points in a chapter I have the most trouble with- beginnings and endings- and so this fits within my idea of how I tend to write but yeah writing is coming along but it's kind of slow?
long as its coming along. I'm keen to read it when your ready to post it.
I'm slowly writing a few things, but none of my new stories seems to be gathering much interest... so i dunno..

Yeah I plan on working on it a lot more in a week since I've been watching the Olympics nonstop since that's the sports event I care about a lot. On gaining people's interest somehow I've been tracking how my stories do it seems like the first chapter needs to be interesting and then just try to continue writing what you want and someone's going to read it. And what seems to have helped my story is to let it slowly get into group categories to keep the interest up for a little bit. I guess just write what you want the best you can and it might work a bit.

I've read some of your new stuff but I haven't commented on it. The Balto? story I couldn't really get into though it was nice. I just never really got that into the movie itself so I was conflicted. Well written and cute like I expect from you- just not exactly for me. I liked that new story with Soarin and Spitfire cause that was kind of a new way of writing them- young Spitfire and Soarin with an accidental pregnancy thing going on? I don't really think that's been touched on a lot for stories I've been reading here and those two rarely get used. But with how focused I have been trying to write or plot my story and keeping that in order I have been limiting my reading of stories just so I don't accidentally rip something off because I read it somewhere. I've been reading a lot of like political stuff and communist tracts just so I can figure out how I want the less show accurate version of Starlight to be consistent when she starts doing things.
