In which I talk about songs 1 · 12:23am Feb 17th, 2018
Thought I'd make a series of blogs/journals about songs, because why the hell not. Usually, these will be focused around songs I like/songs that "connect" with me, although if you suggest songs I go on to like I may talk about them (and I will totally mention you showed me it unless you don't want me to).
For the first 5-6, I already know what I'm going to write about. After that, it's anything goes.
So, this week, we have Sorry Jack, by Scratch21
I found this song because I was listening to other songs by Scratch21, and kinda felt like buying the album afterwards.
So, what is this song about? Well, it's about a guy trying to find a girlfriend, but is having no luck about it whatsoever (also seems fitting given how last Wednesday was Valentine's Day, but what can I do about that?). Part of me also wants to say it's about him also missing the signs that a friend of his likes him, and hence "she found a different guy".
This is one that kinda fits me very well. Bar a few months, I have never been in a relationship. And they weren't really the best. So, in a way, I'm Jack, although I likely have more friends than him which gives me the advantage. And I would like to find someone, but at the same time, I'm scared. I'm scared I'm going to mess up so badly I'll end up dumped. And I'm scared I won't be able to find someone.
So yeah, I'll do another one of these next week. You'll have to wait until then to know the song.
You're a fantastic dude. Anything telling you otherwise is just your own trepidation.
