New chapter out? What is this mad madness? · 2:24am Feb 4th, 2018
So, I just published the latest chapter of The Lunar Guardsman. It only took me two months.
Now, put down the knives and we can talk this out. I do have actual reasons it took me so long! No, just drop them on the ground, don't throw them—
Ok, cool. I can work with that. Anyway. There are three reasons this chapter took that long. I may add a fourth one if I feel like I need to. If this sentence doesn't scream legitimacy, what does?
Reason number 1: It was hard. I have been trying to absorb some lessons, especially as they relate to "THE SAD TIMES" and such. I wanted to get a lot of things out with this chapter, and I think I finally managed it. It took a lot of tweaking and rewriting, but I decided to better take it slow and steady than rush it.
Reason number 2: Personal problems have been draining me. Mostly health ones. Nothing serious or anything I need pity or sympathy for, but they have been sucking off my energy that I would put to writing, especially when combined with how hard this chapter was. More stuff also happened earlier than that and it has been piling up. I guess I did need to take it slow for a bit. Which brings me to the third reason.
Reason number 3: GUYS, VR IS SO COOL, YOU HAVE NO IDEA! I got an oculus rift months ago but only recently I've really started putting time into it. VR is a wonderful way to relax, and instead of doing that I have been using it to play horror games. Dreadhalls was goddamn amazing, and I try to play a random map every couple of nights to keep the blood flowing. I am proud to say I barely scream in fright anymore. Anyway, you get what I mean. I got some me time.
Reason number 4: Ok, this one is actually legitimate, I was joking before. We have now reached the part where the Ponyville fun and games are over and we go back to the real stuff. I needed some extra time to think over some stuff, especially as to how they will all combine and connect in the end. I've changed my mind about a lot of things and decided how to move forward at least for the short term as far as the end of the third arc goes. I have made some serious decisions about the next final arc as well. Anyway, large funny chapters are over, mostly. We go back to as we were soon. So very soon.
Right now I'm writing an interlude that is going to be the next part and then the action begins anew. Sorry for making you wait so long. I'll try to do better. You know, after I finish this little part in the oculus OMGITSSOCOOL!!!!
Yes, yes this pleases Us greatly. The update along with thy girlish screams sate Our bloodlust.
More to the point, you know two months isn't a terribly long time, right? Especially in light of how many fics lie in Purgatory on this site. So with that said there's no need to beat yourself up over deadlines that don't exist. Keep being awesome.

Quality over quantity, stories like this take time to get right and I'll be damned if you haven't been churning out gold.
Plus VR trumps everything, gotta enjoy that stuff while it's new and exciting.

Two months feels super long however, and the excuse that others are doing worse doesn't quite fly so much. But I think I'm gonna be placing more focus on quality rather than speed now, though hopefully without so much time in-between at all.

Yeah, just like I said to SirReal above. I believe I have been super unsubtle in many points in past chapters and still am at certain parts and I intend to fix that as I go. And VR is, again, super amazing. Too bad it took me a while to learn to close my door while I'm playing horror games. They tend to jump on me and make me pee my pants.
I actually just noticed the chapter update and blog today, I seized up when I read, "Health Problems" but then continued readind and all was ok. Also I have a VR headset too! Add me on Steam if you wanna play some multiplayer games, as I have a Vive instead of a Rift.
And if you like horror games... Well lets just say this ranks fairly high in my opinion.

Alright! I haven't got any actual games on Steam but we might be able to arrange something either way. Isn't that Playroom game free? The one where you play stuff like disc throwing and such? Let me know what your steam name is or just give me an invite. I've got the same id there as well.
And that one does look cool. I just hope is it more horror than survival. I want games that make me empty my bladder, not my weapon clip. I'm a masochist like that.

Its like playing a VR version of Silent Hill. Don't die like I did, cowering behind a refrigerator hoping to god the monstrosity would just kindly fuck off. I don't think I could have possibly had more of a white girl in a horror movie moment if I tried. Maybe if I had managed enough courage to run away and ended up tripping over my hmd cord.

There's quit a bit of free Steam VR games to download I'd have to get a running list of all the good ones later. Bar that Steam does have that family feature, I've got like... 60-80 VR games I could sharewith you. Just don't let this slow your writing xD

Ammo in that game... its a fucking nightmare. You literally have to look under beds, in trash cans, ect just to find a single pack containing 6 bullets. Moreover it takes like 3 headshots to drop something. I only have 17 bullets left... *cowers in fear whilst counting bullets*
