I was always obsessed with technology. I can vaguely remember stumbling upon my family’s computer when I was really little, and almost instinctively, my hand reached for the mouse, and suddenly, everything clicked. (No pun intended) I knew how it worked. (Well, at least how the interface worked). When I was probably about 5 or 6, I remember getting this LeapFrog portable console. I loved it, even though everything was pretty much designed to teach a little kid basic math, vocabulary, etc. I don’t remember exactly long I had that thing, but the next thing I remember was going to a friends house and noticing that he had a Wii. The second I saw it, I told my mother I wanted one, and sure enough, on Christmas, I got one. I was so excited. I even remember I had a birthday party pretty much centered around the console. Years later, I went to my aunt’s house, and she was clearing out something, I don’t remember, and she had given me an old Compaq Windows XP laptop. I loved it. I tweaked pretty much every little thing within Windows, and eventually that poor laptop was filled with so much bloatware, that I wiped the hard drive and had to reinstall the OS.

It all started back sometime between 2013 and 2014. That’s when one of my cousins, Brianna, introduced me to MLP. I don’t quite remember my initial impressions, but all I remember is that I didn’t know of it at all until she showed it to me. I didn’t know the target audience, nothing. I don’t remember exactly what the first episode she showed me was, but I do remember she showed me an animation of “Doctor hooves.”

I was intrigued by the show, but I didn’t really think anything of it, until, one day, I was bored and was trying to find something to watch on Netflix. For whatever reason, something made my look for “My Little Pony,” and then, to my surprise, I started binge watching it. The next thing I knew, I had finished watching Season 3. Not thinking to check if it was still still airing (I was probably about 11 at the time) I assumed it had been canceled, until, I looked it up on Google, to find this HUGE fandom based around this silly show about ponies. I started watching it more and more, then started watching fan-made stuff, loving all of it. Then, I realized how similar my personality was to Twilight’s. And then I decided that she was my favorite.

A few years later, I had been switching schools every year, as the one I had been going to was going too fast, and I wasn’t learning anything. Eventually I went to this specialty school for kids like me who were autistic. I made two friends who wish that I don’t call them by name, so I’ll use their usernames Oatmeal Raison, and Rackera, to refer to them. Once when I was eating lunch, MLP came up. I was asked if I liked the show, and I said, after hesitating, that I did.
