Does Tirek have a fanon-agreed-upon R63 name? · 1:15pm Jan 31st, 2018
The same way that Twilight is Dusk Shine, Discord is Eris, Big Mac is Macareina, Trixie is Presto (or Tristan depending on who you ask), Queen Chrysalis is King Metamorphosis, and so on and so forth?
The only one I'm finding on Derpibooru is "Lady Tirek"
asking for... reasons...
(reasons that are pretty much blatantly obvious if you look at the tags but I'm gonna stress that nothing is confirmed yet. I'm still bouncing ideas around for now.)
Tirek backwards sounds like carrot
Random fun facts
None that I know of. Then again, I don’t care to keep up to date with R63 stuff.
As you've noted, people seem to treat "Tirek" as gender-neutral. The comics' "centaur names end in 'k'" convention doesn't help matters, though you can certainly ignore that.
*Waves.
Well, after a bit of digging, Tirek is a variant of Terrick, itself a variant of Derric, from "the obsolete Germanic Thiudoreiks, a compound name composed from the Old German elements thiuda (folk, people) and reiks (ruler, leader, king)". In other words, "Tirek" derives from the word meaning "people ruler". The pseudohomograph "Theodore" and feminine "Theodora" actually mean "God-given", and the derivatives "Dorothy" and "Godiva" mean "gift of God". The closest word I can find with the same meaning as Tirek and being mostly feminine is "Terry", which I would suggest you use for "Lady Tirek".
Terrick - Meaning of Terrick Note that Tirek is the variant thereof.
Origin of the name Derrick Note that there are no entries on these sites for "Derrick" without the "k", and I think that the lack of the k in the first citation is a typographical error. Upon further searching, I find that "Derric" is simply an alternative spelling, like Derek, and these spellings all derive from Theodoric.
Theodoric
Theodore (name)
With all this said, while it doesn't look like the fandom has a female variant of Tirek agreed upon, I would HIGHLY suggest you use Terry. :)
