On Hiatus again · 9:09am Jan 30th, 2018
So, as the title says, Pony Predators of Equestria is on hiatus again. It isn't dead by a long shot, and I do fully intend to start updating with new chapters again, however one thing that's become unfortunately apparent to me is that the story in its current form is just not sustainable for me to keep writing. There's simply too much going on for me to keep track of it all, too many plot threads that were created only to be left unused or incomplete... to put it simply, I tried to cram far too much into a single story. As a result, I've decided to go through the entire story and do a moderate rewrite of it.
So while the vamponies, thestrals, and Luna will still be the focus, but they will be the only focus - I'm pulling the changelings out of the story. They aren't gone, per se, but at most they would only have a few foreshadows for a potential sequel, rather than being a second main plot thread of the story alongside the vamponies. Other, mostly unrelated side plots will also likely be shrunk or removed.
As for when the story might continue, I would tentatively estimate probably 5-6 months from now. I had originally hoped it would be faster, but as I started going back through and re-reading the first chapters, it became obvious that I am a better writer now that I was approximately three years ago when I first started writing this story, and if I'm going to go to the trouble of overhauling the plot then I should take the time to improve the general writing structure as well.
Anyway, that's it for now.
No need to go that far to pull them completely, Just bring it to a closure. Make side stories detailing events with them, and make them relevant, but just phase them out a bit. Also, dodge filler chapters to make things easier.

When I read the first chapter of Pony Predators I was intrigued by the idea of the Vamponies and I find really unique the idea of dividing the batponies into Vamponies and Thestrals.
I really enjoyed the story so far, it’s one of my favorite with the Golden Armor and the Journey with a Batpony, especially chapter 10.5 and 24
but I saw that the recent chapters were focused mostly on changelings.
I’m not saying that I didn’t like them or that I don’t care about changelings, after all they are predators too, but I was just curious to see what Midnight had in mind for “lesson two”
So yeah, I’ll wait to see what’s going to happen next, take your time and don't lose your head on it
By the way, will we need to reread the story after you will be done with the corrections?

As far as whether you'll have to re-read the whole thing, it's really too early to say for sure. I do plan on summarizing the changes once I'm done though, so you will most likely be able the skip parts of it where the only thing that happened was something was removed.

I had quite a bit planned for the changelings though, so bringing it to a closure quickly would somewhat defeat the purpose I had when I originally wanted to include them.

Maybe so, but do not lose heart. No need to rewrite yet, just shift focus and make a side story or two to focus on the other stuff. The things like the extended history were the problems, not the changeling focus. Basically, just balance out the predators a bit more. The tone right now needs more Vampony, so do a perspective shift rather than a re-write.
I have seen re-writes take up a lot less time when they are based on a completed story than reworking the whole thing from scratch. With a complete story, Fans have something to enjoy, and you have a solid baseline.
