Commander Hurricane and Private Pansy could be hippogriffs (given how a lot of weather has elements of both air and water; plus I could definitely see Hurricane having the fighting spirit of a DC/Marvel Comics denizen of Atlantis combined with actual flight).

Not bad, but they're not ponies in this universe. And can you try to make them different species, I want to show how desperate the supernaturals are that they're willing to set aside old rivalries and work together.
