New Story Description!
We wanted to help describe the story in a way that seemed more accessable to the audience, so after some testing we modified it to this:
A simple night of scholastic fun at the Battle of the Bands turned tragic when a massive explosion erupted. Raw magical energy was sent around the globe. This untamed magic killed some of the residing people. Those left alive were either left normal, or granted untold magical powers. These gifted ones became known as meta humans.
Convinced the blame lay solely on her actions, Sunset Shimmer took the responsibility on herself to try righting this wrong. Every night she wages a battle against the meta human criminals to bring them to justice, no matter what the cost.
After a series of seemingly unrelated crimes, she grows curious and begins to believe there is more going on than what meets the eye. Sunset Shimmer must now reach out to old friends in order to make new ones. In this world of superheros and villains, it's not possible for one person to bring it balance alone. One she will need to reach out to is a marooned Princess of Friendship, Twilight Sparkle!
