Nintendo Switch Now The Fastest-Selling Console In US History · 7:41pm Jan 4th, 2018

It's official; the Nintendo Switch has sold 4.8 million units in 10 months, outpacing the Wii's 4 million in the same time frame.

Still not interested, though. You can keep the Zelda and 3D Mario titles. Give me a call when you bring back the F-Zero franchise, more Mario 2D platformers, and a PROPER Starfox 64 console sequel or remaster, something you guys haven't grasped yet after 20 years.

Sounds fair. Frankly, if you are going to buy a system, the best reason to buy one is for the games and not because of its popularity. That's why I bought my Switch, and I enjoyed Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. Splatoon 2 and Sonic Mania were great too, and I'm cautiously optimistic for that Metroid Prime 4.

Come to think of it, I couldn't think of a game already out or upcoming that would convince you to buy a Switch. Splatoon is an interesting take on multiplayer shooters, but that wouldn't necessarily matter to someone who enjoys Destiny, Titanfall, or what Halo used to be. Sonic Mania is multiplatform, Sonic Forces is a disappointment (and also a multiplatform). Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the closest you will ever get to a new F-Zero. I'm pretty sure Nintendo doesn't know what to do with the Star Fox franchise anymore. And I wouldn't be too surprised to see a 2D Mario platformer (the question is whether it'll be done in the same vein as the New Super Mario Bros games), but at that point it's not worth buying a $300 piece of hardware for just one game.

On another note, I'd like to think it would be a little easier to break the record with each new system, considering population growth and a larger market. But then again, if you don't count the Wii and Switch, Nintendo has actually been hemorrhaging console sales with each new system.

Why break what works already?

Starfox 64 and F-Zero GX with current gen graphics would be amazing.

That's why Resident Evil 2002 was so amazing; there were minimal fundamental changes from 1996; it just looks stunning; even by today's standards.

Star Fox 64 3D is the reason I bought a 3DS in the first place.

The only thing that could make it better is if I could have it on a 55" TV in Full HD.
