Checking In - January 2018 · 5:20am Jan 2nd, 2018
Happy New Year! I hope the first day of 2018 has treated you all well! As promised, I'm checking in to see how writing went last month. Honestly, it went both better and worse than planned because I neglected to account for one critical thing. After a look at the numbers, I'll explain.

Statistics:
Total Words Written: 14,657
Published Chapters:
Finding a Place: Chapter 42 (9,349 words)
Finding a Place: Chapter 43 (10,135 words)
Thoughts:
Based on just the numbers, December was more productive than it felt. With all the holiday obligations, my family has had me running around like crazy. Don't get me wrong, it's been a fun month but writing time will always be the first casualty when family needs arise. So let's have a look at my goals for December played out.
Review: December Goals:
#1: Finish writing and publish the next two Chapters of Finding a Place. (Success!)
#2: Finish writing one chapter of another story. (A couple words, but really no progress)
#3: Review Broken Guardian for potential re-write. (Partially Done)
I overestimated how much I was going to be able to get done. I blame the holiday season! Still, I did manage to accomplish part of my goals and I'm pleased with that. Broken Guardian does need a revisit based on my review but when that will come to the top of the list remains to be seen.
January Goals:
So I'm going to keep my goals slightly more modest this month but I'm shifting their priority.
#1: Write and publish at least one chapter of an in-progress story.
#2: Finish writing and publish at least one chapter of Finding a Place.
#3: Begin re-write of Broken Guardian.
I really want to get my other two stories moving again and I think I can finally do that. When struggling to write anything, it's best to focus on one thing. I'm pretty sure I can accomplish more than that this month. Anyhow, that's a wrap. Thanks as always for your support and for reading!
