Tragic News to the Readers · 3:44pm Dec 25th, 2017
I thought I would inform the people who are waiting for more chapters of Dark Ponies: The Rising about a recent change.
The story is now canceled.
The reason to do so is a strange one: it is lore-breaking. What lore? You might be asking. My lore. The lore that I had set up for the world (and continued to develop) and I can't have a lore-breaking story; hence my decision. I'm silly. I'll admit that. I continued to change things, and add things to the point that my own story became something that I don't condone. There are several question that many of you may have, and I'll answer what I can below the break.
Where does that leave the story?
--Fear not. I am already (slowly) working on a new story that will be lore friendly, and will be written better. Things like a better start, and possibly even better action, no promises there. The story will, however, remain canceled; unless I figure out a way to make it into a different story while keeping it roughly the same.
When will the new story be released?
--I can't really say for certain. I want to have at least the first two chapters done before it gets released, and I plan on having a boss fight in the content; so in short -- not until I meet certain requirements.
What kind of lame excuse is "lore-breaking" for cancelling a story?
--While it might not be that much to some, it is a major deal to me when it comes to my own stories. As you can tell, it is such a big deal that I am willing to completely rework something just to make it into something that fits my lore. I am willing to bend the lore, but not break it. Never break it.
Will you actually get an editor or proofreader for the new story?
--Probably not. I write at weird intervals, and sometimes with months in-between, and I don't want to bother anyone for that; however, I will most likely ask a friend of mine (or several) to pre-read the chapters for me. After all, it is never a fun thing to write something that no one will be interested in reading. If someone is willing to proofread or edit (you'd have to let me know which) then I am more than happy to give you a trial period; as in a chapter to work through to see how well you can do the "job".
Is there going to be a real cover for the cover art?
--I wish! That would be great! But as it stands I don't have the artistic ability to do anything well, and I don't want to be a hassle on others -- nor do I have the money to commission anyone. I'm also really bad at describing how I want a picture to turn out to others. I will also not use an image without permission, unless it is from the wiki sites; and I'm rather afraid of asking people if I could use their artwork on my story -- out of fear that I do a bad job and put their art to shame.
Those are the questions that I thought you guys might have had, if you have any... specific ones, then leave them below in the comments. I promise I will get back, and I can answer nearly all of them.
