I gave myself another concussion. · 3:01pm Dec 19th, 2017
What happened:
I'm away from home, saying with people who are, on the whole, short. As a result the pipe (a really sturdy heavy duty metal one) goes right over their heads and they never really think of it. Thus I didn't get warned. The basement isn't that well lit. My forehead was the point of contact but I felt it in individual vertebrae (usually I can't distinguish one from the other, but this time they each wanted to deliver a personal jolt of objection) and also in my shoulders because, I guess, inertia was carrying them fast enough that when my head and spine suddenly stopped the resulting force on them was great enough to mess them up to.
Then everything seemed to get better, once the pain of the initial impact wore off. I should have known better than to trust that. It's the hardest I've ever hit the front of my head and this isn't my first concussion. Anyway, concessions actually take a bit to assert themselves, thus things seeming to get better wasn't at all in line with reality.
So then things got worse, and now my head is all screwed up and life kind of sucks.
Why it (possibly) matters to you:
Recovery from a concussion is greatly accelerated, and symptoms made less bad, if one stays away from screens. Like the one I'm using right now. Expect me to be away from Fimfiction for a bit, and thus don't expect updates soon.
What you can do:
I don't expect you to do anything. If you want to make me feel better when I get back you could read through my current works and comment on them if the fancy strikes you, or introduce ones you like to other people.
If you have money you want to spend on a total stranger you learned of on the internet . . . there's probably someone more worthy than me, however there is something you could do.
So, very short story:
My medical insurance ends at the state line, I'm currently out of state, and I'm pretty well broke. In spite of this I went into an urgent care place to have my head injury evaluated because smashing your forehead into a metal pipe can do worse than a concussion. No insurance means a need to pay out of pocket, which I didn't have money for. Someone paid for me. $169.00. I would really like to be able to pay her back.

If just 17 people gave just 10 dollars . . . yeah, that'll never happen. Plus, unless you're paying direct from your bank account or Paypal balance, Paypal takes a cut so it would actually take more.
Really important final note:
I don't expect you to do anything. Times are tough all over, I haven't done anything to deserve your money, I'm sure you can find a better use for it, and I'm the one who was stupid enough to walk face first into a pipe. (If it had been a bar I'd be the automatic butt of a very lackluster joke. "A girl walked into a bar--" "Ouch!")
