Alternate universes and shared universes. · 2:53pm Dec 16th, 2017
Recently after coming back, I decided to make a choice on the connection between two of my stories.
Xenophobia and Bad Company, that is.
Xenophobia is a hard story for me to write personally. The subjects they touch on without breaking characters too much is something I am having trouble with making it relevant on an overhanging perspective between two stories who are very different in setting and other facts.
Bad Company on the another hand is a much easier story to write for since the main character is my own so I don't have to make canon main characters something that they aren't by tweaking and pulling until I get something I want to.
Which is why I have decided to split Xenophobia and Bad Company to seperate universes. They will still reference each other at some points but see it as an alt. U. Doing this will enable me to have a consistensy in one story without straying too far from the other story, making it so I will have an easier time relating events and other things happening in one story where in the other one something happened differently.
What are your thoughts about this? Any pointers or angry mobs forming in the distance? I'd love to hear your thoughts of this as well.
This will not have a bigger impact on the stories itself, it is only to make writing these stories consistently easier.
I'm fine either way. Having the stories interconnect is fun, but the tone of the two is radically different and the nature of Xenophobia means the two wouldn't interconnect all that much anyways so there is a strong argument to be made for splitting them.
Also, if you split them, he can be pranking buddies with Rainbow and Pinkie in Bad Company for more shenanigans.
It's fine with me, I just want to read more Xenophobia in general. I really like that one.
