Final Thoughts on Unexpected · 10:53pm Dec 12th, 2017
Unexpected is my story, or at least its as close to it as I'll ever get in this kind of medium. Like I said several times, it was meant to be semi-autobiographical and while I took a few creative liberties here and there and added a few things that I felt worked better for the plot, the basic concept was based on my own life.
I had actually done something similar to this before with Please Forgive Me as you'll recall, but I wanted to do something new here. It, admittedly was a challenge and I wasn't sure that it would go over well with the readers given the sensitive subject matter and the fact that its slightly similar to Motherly Scootaloo.
But you guys surprised me, while not my most popular story of all time I got nothing but positive feedback. I rather enjoyed working on it and it was good for em yo write all these things out, even if I admittedly put Scootaloo in a tough position, though that's nothing new if you've read my fanfics.
Stuff that I added obviously includes as I've mentioned before, Scootaloo punching Cirrus. I kinda wish I had done that, but that wasn't really the main point of the fic. As usual, I wanted to include Rainbow Dash adopting Scootaloo going into the fic, but her actually being Scootaloo's biological mother was not originally planned. Instead it came out of a conversation with my good friend the Bricklayer who has written his own universe with the concept of Rainbow being her mother.
Unexpected was something that I admit I wasn't expecting to do as well as it did, but I'm glad it did. There's a lot of it that I included and loved writing. There's still more stories to come of course, and while I haven't started the multi-chapter sequel fic I have planned, I have something else that's ready to post.
Come back here around Christmas Day or Eve and I'll have a new fanfic for you to read, its a one shot but lots of stuff is coming. I'll see you all then.
